This guy was some pro-Russian idiot, can't say I feel sorry for him.
Initially thought could Putin be behind this, then read he's an ally but a little part of me thought 'Putin could still be behind it'. Poor guy.
Charming. Even forgetting the seriousness of an attack on a politician he's still a human being...
Who says propaganda doesn't work eh!

It would be a bit odd to try and assassinate someone on your side, who is inside the political system of your 'enemy' and working within it to hamper their opposition to you.
Putin murders his friends and colleagues. Even family members and their friends and families.
maybe so, but I'd expect he'd have his own justification (ie: feeling his position was being threatened) no matter how warped.
Was there anything going on with Fico that would have caused Putin any jitters? With his trying to block Ukrainian aid, sounds like he was helping old Vlad out.
Very small bullets going slowly do less damage. Very small bullets going much faster do a lot of damage. See the M16 rifle story for details.shot 5 times but he is expected to survive and surgery went well apparently
maybe it was a .22 LR pistol common in shooting clubs, very small little bullets that do less damage
maybe so, but I'd expect he'd have his own justification (ie: feeling his position was being threatened) no matter how warped rather than just waking up one day and feeling like whacking one of your mates.

Hitler was a human being, if someone had shot him years before the world would have been a better place.Charming. Even forgetting the seriousness of an attack on a politician he's still a human being...

Do they not teach history in Slovakian schools? It could have been Fico was simply no longer useful to Putin. Slovakia was a potential route for Putin’s expansion of territory.
Do they not teach history in Slovakian schools?
One would think that the Soviet invasion of the then Czechoslovakia in 1968 to suppress their reform movement might lead Slovaks not to trust a Russian leader who fondly remembers the Soviet Union.
By this logic, Germany invading Poland is German history and therefore wouldn't be taught in Polish schoolsRussian history.

Not if you want to make them a martyr (although I still think it is a bit of a stretch to think Putin was involved). This sort of political violence often backfires and the victim's politics become stronger. It would be a bit odd to try and assassinate someone on your side, who is inside the political system of your 'enemy' and working within it to hamper their opposition to you.
