I'm getting married in July and looking to get a gift for my groomsmen as a thank you for all the help that I'll be asking them for, lol. There are 5 of them. For 4 of them, I plan to get a bottle of Whisky. However one of them doesn't drink, so need an equivalent alternative. Any ideas/suggestions? Looking to spend about £60.Something consumable would make sense given that's what others are getting as well, but wasn't sure what. He likes food generally so was thinking of a food hamper, but hadn't seen anything great that was jumping out, so thought I'd turn to the great GD collective for alternative suggestions or specific hampers that people might recommend?

Get him a bottle of whisky too…
A) his fault that he doesn’t drink, but I’m sure he can use it to host a guest or two at some point.
B) this removes the risk of his/they gift is better than mine.
C) does anyone really eat/drink/use the items we get as gifts? Most of us hold onto them for memory or as tokens as IOUs ;)
D) the value of good whisky has increased greater than the stock market in recent times.

Or a gift card to a fancy restaurant….

If someone "gifted" me a bottle of alcohol while knowing I didn't drink, I'd hand it back and question my friendship with the person.

Especially if the reason he doesn't drink is related to having had problems with it in the past, or even religious reasons.

Just try to price match the whisky as best you can, maybe a gift card would be a good alternative and reduce any potential griping from others? Hell, I'd be inclined to get gift cards for everyone personally.

60 pounds on the lottery and then spend years in legal wrangling when he wins a billion dollars and you're all "I GAVE YOU THAT TICKET!" and he's all "NO YOU GIFTED ME IT WHICH IS TECHNICALLY DIFFERENT" and the judge says "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!" and oh my god I would watch this movie and I would watch it hard.

No, you're welcome.

Brilliant, thanks everyone! Given none of the bridesmaids are single, I'm not sure that idea will go down well with them

Give the others the same and blame him :D

This would be hilarious though :D :D

And I do agree with Gray - getting him a bottle of whisky whilst knowing he doesn't drink isn't right - it would be an utterly pointless gift for him and this is meant to be a thank you.

Thanks for the cheese and chutney sets matty - the savoury afternoon tea might be a nice one!

I hadn't consdiered the Steam gift cards idea - he is a gamer so this would work really well! Thank you!

What if he doesn't win though? It feels like this potential huge movie then disappears?!

I believe in you. He wins either way. Celebrity Skin.

I had four friends to buy for when I got married.

Three share my love of aircraft and one didn't so the three that did all received an aircraft skin tag that meant something to them in one way or other, some fancy aircraft socks and a subscription to an aircraft magazine of their choosing.
The fourth guy got a coffee machine to roughly the same value as I knew he wanted one.
Just something different to a bottle of plonk.
