Sanity check - underfloor heating feeder pipes running under fridge and freezer

Hello

I am having a big extension done. The wet underfloor heating has been put down today, ready for screeding tomorrow. The thing I'm worried about is that the feeder pipes for the UFH are running out of the boiler room and under where the fridge and freezer will be situated.

Due to the layout of where the boiler room is I understand why it went there, but the builder did know a Fridge and Freezer would be there. Should I be worried we'll be overloading the fridge and freezer?

We'll be running it quite low as we'll use a heat pump, but still it seems a bit odd.

Thanks - that's really reassuring. The builder has put a covering over those pipes before the screed goes down just to give me some piece of mind.

Wouldn't worry about it, if it was a radiator would be different but in theory your floor will be sub 27c so cooler than it is currently in the UK.

As others have said, this isn't an issue. The floor max will be 27. Think of places like Spain where the temps through summer are regularly 40+ and refrigeration copes just fine. It might use a bit more power, but I wouldn't worry about that! Get some solar!

Interesting. Ours was only laid where actual bare floor would be. i.e. Walkable sections of our kitchen diner. Not the island or under cupboards/units. If you can get it moved I would but I don't know how much it would affect it. I would say minimal.

Thanks! Yes - that's on my list as well!

pipe or screed. in theory if your screed is 50mm or so thick then it wouldn't matter if ti has pipe running through it or not it'll eventually get up to 27c and stay that temp. obviously with thinner screed you'd have hotter spots locally.

How much insulation you got underneath Marakith?

Ours did too, but his utility and the feed in sounds like it's the only place it can come in at unfortunately...

What do you mean by pipe or screed?
We inherited our setup as it was already installed when we moved in. I thought all of them were screed over the top of the proper wet underfloor systems?

Not sure how thick the screed is - it looked like 50mm at least when it went down yesterd!
200mm celotex equivalent underneath.
