One way flight ticket

I have heard that sometimes it can be a bit of a hassle trying to fly with a one way ticket.

I ask as i want to go to the South of France. I dont know an exact date for a return though. I may stay there longer than planned.

Anyone experience any issues with buying a one way ticket?

It will be with Ryanair.

I have seen people talk about using 'Onward ticket.com' as a solution....

Make sure you have enough money in your account to support yourself, be prepared to answer why you only have a one way ticket.

It’ll be fine I have done it a few times, sometimes you get asked, sometimes you don’t.
 
Ryanair only sell one way tickets. When you select 'return' on their site, it's just 2 one way tickets priced separately, so no, there is no issue buying it.

You may indeed have an issue in France - they may ask for proof of onward travel or a return ticket. Or they may not. If they do, you will have to explain yourself and hope they let you enter.

Is it worth the risk? Most definitely not, just book a flight back, whatever is the cheapest possible, even if you won't use it and will book another.

I've flown more times than I can remember, all around the world, and have never, and would never, fly without having a return flight.

I’d disagree with this, as long the border entry person belives you have the money to support yourself AND you have no reason to over stay you’ll be fine ultimately though it's up to you.

For whats its worth I have done it 2 times in Australia, Taiwan numerous time (my wifes family) and I recently did it with a work trip.

I'd disagree with this, why would I leave it to the border entry person to believe me, when I can just show an onward ticket if asked? And it's not exactly hard to plan properly and book all the flights, pretty simple really.
 
I booked with Virgin Atlantic recently with the return date 6 months away. I also upgraded the ticket to a flexi/cancel with no charges.

Could that be an option - you would also save cash as return tickets aren't that much more that singles.

Good idea....

As for the comment above saying i would be wasting my money booking a return flight that i wouldnt use, no, i would return on that flight. I cant afford to throw money away..

That's not going to be possible on a Ryanair flight.

No, they are there to control the border - hence sometimes they will ask why you are there, do you have the finances to support yourself, how long are you staying, where are you staying....

Bro, chill.

I know many people who fly to the south of France on a one-way ticket with out a problem.

They stay there for however long they like and book another one-way ticket back when they want to return to the UK.

Go with the flow.
