I remember when this popped up earlier in the project, it felt like it was trying to do too much. I'm still not sure about it, it definitely ticks the boxes for some but not sure it's for me / my set up

This looks like an amazing piece of kit but can’t see them selling many at this price, maybe I’m being cheap but £250-300 I think they would sell a bunch

At that price I would be more inclined to buy an OLED monitor and a GBS control. I can see the appeal of the Checkmate monitor but the problem is that it isn't really the ultimate retro monitor when it is using IPS rather than OLED.

You can buy a 19" 4:3 IPS monitor for around £125 and a GBS control for about £60 from a famous online retailer.

This is already a niche product. Maybe there is a reason why it isn't possible but I would have went with an OLED instead of IPS and increased the price to compensate. Then it really would be the ultimate retro monitor and no doubt the people seriously interested in this would still pay up for it.
