UT4 Unreal Tournament

Yes, Epic abandoned UT4. Shame, Still a lot of players on the PHX hub daily. Skill level is moderate to high. Still quite exhilirating to play.

Often the experts join and it's like playing with world class players. For those that can appreciate the skill level, this video is mesmerising:

While Fortnite is still making them loads of money I don’t know if they will go back to UT. I still play UT3 from time to time. I’ve wondered if a community built version might exist in the future.

They did say UT3 would be coming back with some kind of revision though no idea what was meant by that and seen as Unreal games got removed a few years ago now and there's been no sign or word of this UT3 revision I'm thinking it was just said to help with damage control at the time.

UT3 revision did happen but nobody cared by that point.

Dam just tried to play the epic store version, i had installed years ago, loved playing it, obviously did not work, so uninstalled, and going to download this version in thread, thx for posting links.

i loved ut especially the first one, it was amazing at the time and spent many hours on insta gib only servers :)

They didn't just abandon it, they killed it off, removed all UT and Unreal games from all stores
Can never understand when a developer does this.

I mean those games are already there and could potentially still make money if someone wants to buy them. Why remove and restrict access to already made games?

Its not like anyone is expecting any updates for them, so why not let the communities that still want to play them to flourish.

Probably don't want new gamers to see how much better multiplayer FPS games were back then. Plus all the modability, priate servers, and lots of content out of the box, including a map editor. Now you get the bare minimum and a shop.

Unreal (the original) is a historic game really, it took something like 7 years to make and raised the bar.

I still enjoy playing Unreal Tournament on my Odin 2 mini handheld in Winlator. Allbeit against bots, but the skill adjust works well for me as have grown up on mouse and keyboard.
