Yeah shocked myself, I'm only looking at the FE as I recently sold mine for £1700 which I was extremely happy with as it cost me £1700 at release so was basically free for 2 year 2 months... now people are paying over msrp for a used card :eek: Personally would spend the extra £100-£150 on the 5090FE as it is a better card and as you say will come with warranty even if it means waiting a month or two.

I've not watched too many reviews yet but it's looking like what we were expecting from Nvidia's slides and leaks.

Feels like, as with so many in recent history, it's a good card with a bad price. If this had released at the same price as the 4090 then it might not have been amazing but would probably still have been decent. As it is it doesn't seem to be worse value than the 4090, just not the uplift you would expect from a new generation.
As an upgrade from a 4090 it probably doesn't make much sense but if you're upgrading from something much older then it probably makes as much sense as a 4090 did/does.

I’m the same. This doesn’t feel as exciting as previous releases for me.

But I’m buying a 5090, I can’t resist :cry:

Yeah, I was hoping for more from the 5090 just to give some hope to the rest of the stack.

Coming in at the $1000 price point we saw the 7900 XTX and 4080 SUPER at last gen it would've been nice if this could've hit that price point while offering ~30%-40% or so improvement. But it now doesn't look good.
 
I've build a whole new PC, barring the GPU. I moved my 3070 over from my old build and was planning to get a 5080 on launch. I was initially going to get the 4080 Super at launch (actually had the FE in my basket) but decided to hold off for the 5080. With the relative lack of improvement and the limited supply, I really wish I had just pulled the trigger. I think this is going to be a nightmare!

Agreed, I'll be sticking with my 4090 till 6090 I think, I think all that's been done is add 33% more hardware and more ai stuff the actually generational improvement is nothing still on 4nm makes 30% extra performance using 33% more hardware, whilst consuming 27% more power and costing 25% more.

Could quite easily been a 4000 series card.

Plus another thing that got me into computing was overclocking, the 3090 stix I still have on water will out perform a 3090ti is in the top 1% my 4090 strix performs the same as every other 4090.
 
Not a shocker Nvidia focused more on AI BS performance uplifts vs the 4090 then.

However as a 4090 owner i'm still tempted but the 5090, stupid VR racing sims. :p

Yeah i thought this with 5080 and 5070, they will really look like a side grade more than anything.

Never know the 9070xt might do ?
 
Yeah I think I'm out as well.

£1939 for FE which will be ultra hard to get and then scalp city from retailers on the AIB models for months of low stock.

If the good ones are starting at £2600 then they will be hitting £3000 or even higher if stock is a problem.

It seems to be only nice in its looks/design. Reports are fans are loud, and the cooling is somewhat mid.

A few of us were postulating the FE might not have the best cooling due to its size. You can't break the laws of thermodynamics in any case. I expect even low-end AIBs will match this (although much larger and not as elegant).

Surely you would sell the 4090 to offset the 5090 ? As it stands if that 4090 is an FE they are fetching £1800-£1850 so real upgrade cost if you can get a 5090 FE would be £90-£140.... not a bad upgrade for that price difference ;)
