So instead of shelling out for Nvidias shenanigans, I'm going to put my money towards a new monitor instead. The choice is going to be between these two especially now that they are available at the same price. I know that they both use the same panel and I know that the aorus has DP2.1 which is appealing, But from what I've read and seen provides no noticeable difference over 1.4 with DSC in terms of image quality. I have heard that the Asus has received a plethora of firmware updates which have improved features such as Allowing brightness calibration under certain modes.

I guess I'm looking for opinions on people who may own either of the monitors and just get some general feedback to help make my decision!

Very minor but still a couple of things to think about
- The longest cable atm which is VESA certified and supports DP 80 is 2M which was added last week! (was previously max 1.2 i believe). DP 2.1b DP80LL cables were announced at CES and are coming soon(tm) which support maximum of 3M, i believe these are active from the GPU side.
- You can disable DSC on the asus but it will max out at 4k 120. If you ever wanted to use DSR/DLDSR on the asus you do have the option to disable DSC.
- You cannot disable DSC on the F032U2P, if you use a GPU that is DP 1.4a and wish to use DSR this currently is not possible. https://old.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gaming/comments/1c3s1kg/gigabyte_fo32u2p_no_toggle_for_dsc/

Welcome to the club i did the same thing :D

Felt no point at the moment throwing crazy money at a new GPU when i already owned a fast gpu and there no games available that needs anything faster

I decided to go with the asus in the end which should be arriving on Tuesday, From what I can find out on the good old interwebs there's no Noticeable image quality difference when using dsc, And I got a pretty good deal on the Asus, I've also seen that some of the latest firmware updates have added some new features such as unlocking colour calibration and brightness stuff even when using sRGB.

My thoughts exactly and on top of that I just think that the pricing is ridiculous... I was willing to get an FE But I'm not paying anything over that for an aib and I think the 6000 series will probably be the real performance uplift the 5000 series should have been so by the time that comes out at least I'll be nice and entrenched in 4K OLED goodness!

I bought my Asus monitor a couple months ago for £900. Stunning monitor, way better than a GPU upgrade can produce.

how does your 7900xtx handle 4k in games? This'll be my first foray into 4K on PC, I bet it looks incredible on this panel, am really looking forward to it.

Hitting about 90-120fps, I've capped it to 120fps as I only play single player games.
I play mostly Rpg and RTS games. I play high/ultra settings but I don't play the most demanding games. I'm currently playing god of war Ragnarok and I'm getting about 105fps. I never turn Ray tracing on but I'm happy without.

Do you run the monitor with the DSC support turned off ?

I been thinking of turning the DSC off on mine and just running it as a 4K 120hz monitor
As i don't really see the need for running it at 240hz with my 55 year old eyes :(

From what I have seen online you might as well just leave DSC on as there's not really a noticeable difference in image quality. You paid for a top tier monitor you might as well get the most out of it right?

I didn''t buy it for the 240hz ;)

My last monitor which cost double the price of this one i always ran at 144hz when it could do 200hz

Am really not interested in being able to run over 200fps. But the option only a few clicks away if i ever want to ;)

Also am thinking you may get less OLED flicker if the monitor set to 120hz

Yup yup! As much as I want to set it up it will have to wait till tomorrow.
What monitor are you upgrading from ?

Can't wait to hear what you think of it, But i understand it may take you a while to get used to all the different settings as there lots of them :D

PG329Q - 32" 1440P IPS, To be honest it's a cracking monitor in its own right, I remember when I was buying it I was thinking that 32 might be too much screen real estate for 1440p, But to be honest I found it perfectly fine, So much so that I can't go back to 27", I had to for a few days as I had to RMA My first one because of a small blue glow in the bottom left hand corner, but the replacement I received which I'm using up until now has been absolutely flawless with no issues and no crazy backlight bleed or anything like that.

I'm really looking forward to hooking up the 32UCDM, I have a 55" LG B9 OLED Which I use strictly for movies and stuff like that and I absolutely love how gorgeous everything looks on OLED. Guess I'll see tomorrow!!

A new monitor is a far bigger and better upgrade than a new GPU. Wise choice.

ok so..... I wasn't expecting it to look quite this good...

I don't know why I was expecting really but this is just really something else. It's so crisp and the colours are just screaming at me so vibrant and alive but not overly saturated. I followed the TFT central calibration guide are there any other settings outside of this video which I should take into account or look into adjusting?

One thing I normally do is turn the uniform brightness off when I play games and then turn it back on for desktop usage

This is for sdr games as I not played any HDR games on mine yet :o
As am to busy playing through tomb raider 1 remastered
