I remember when this place was all about partying, nights out and chasing the ladies, not braces, hospital visits and pensions.

I long for those days….

@Megahurtz400 Please lead the charge and kick us off with some recent antics.

For myself I'm off to a nice steakhouse tonight and then sampling some nice cocktails (old crow will definitely be visited), I will probably (definitely) end up in a dive bar, hopefully not karaoke...with resignation that tomorrow is going to be a pain.

No braces will be worn, but I am going to be wearing a fetching suit, I don't plan on ending up in hospital (let's see!) and my pension is already sorted.

Anyone else?

No, I’m staying at home and trying on my new pants braces.

A couple of weeks back, I went into Manchester for a bit of culture - a traditional Chinese dance performance.

Unfortunately, turned out to be the front for a dodgy cult, basically the Chinese version of scientology.

Oh well, the first half was interesting, before the anti-evolution songs, and the weirdly acted scenes about such topics as someone having their eyes harvested by the CCP but then healing them through the power of meditation started.

I know what you mean.. lol

They tried to collar me when I was in Warrington, I did think of getting tickets for my brother and sister in law for Christmas.. but they went a few years ago and said it was crap lol

I remember when I was a yoot, I used to club hop.. across different cities on the same night too.

Now, going to a friends birthday party seems a bit to wild for me. Lol

A few drinks with a meal on a bank holiday seems to be the most I can manage now a days.

Can't remember the last time I even went into the city.
Maybe once in 2025?

And that 2as boardgames a d food! :D

I go into town a lot, but mainly for work.

I meet up with friends locally but I don't really drink but we go out nonetheless.

I'm out a lot at the weekends with the kids which I love, but I also do sports which means I end up having no real time for debauchery which suits me fine.

You're social life changes a bit as your priorities change, doesn't mean you're stuck doing nothing it's just different.

I don't wear braces though.

46 never been into Newcastle for a night out since before Covid. When I was a lad, I'd often do a Friday and a Saturday!

I'm actually out locally with my mates tonight for a BIG Friday night Boys night!!! First time this year. But that now involves a meal at 7pm a couple of drinks in a pub after and a taxi home latest 11:00 - 11:30.

I've got tickets to watch a balding Canadian man play dance music in Camden tomorrow, with my wife.

Actually was in Camden last November for a "man-do" but prior to that I hadn't been for about 10 years!

theres a big culture shift since the whole wfh was more widespread and the soaring costs as well.
younger generations seem to be buying alcohol nd drinking at home more.

i dont go out much if i do its mostly theater realted, although i havent done much of that since covid
i like to be in bed by 11-12 i just dont bounce bak as i used to.
i find even the cinema a strugge

It's Friday in the 90s, which means tonight will involve Ben Sherman shirts, 'smart' jeans and school shoes. Lashings of Davidoff Cool Water is absolutely mandatory. Few pints of snakebite down at the local before heading to the club to listen to beeps and booms whilst trying to impress some young women. A snog and a couple of fingers later, they go on their way, and then it's off to get a kebab which will get 100% attention on the walk home.

Last month I went to a concert, got to the front and head banged away next to the legs of the singer of my current favourite band, danced with friends and met new people and a band from berlin.
Had a friend visit for a week and we played many a game, drank some cocktails and went out for dinner.
Tonight I am hosting a party if I can get some people together at short notice as my flat mate is away, so want to take advantage of no noise restrictions on the music.
Just realised I have nothing social planned in march, maybe I will save money, but then got another concert at start of April.

I try to go to one concert a month, although this is highly dependant on who's touring. I don't tend to get drunk at them anymore due to cost/avoidance of long hang overs now I'm old. If there is no concert, I lean towards hanging out inside rather than pub now, although that is often not possible, but at most once a month still. I just hate how expensive it is, so dont drink much out anymore, which goes well with my generally drinking far less in general I guess.

Has Sir considered a writing career?

I walk down the road to my club, have a good lunch, have a good chinwag, then settle in with the papers - maybe snooze a little.

Scandalous, I know.

I reckon when I was a regular weekend raver about 25 years ago about 5% of the people out were off their face on coke, these days its at the very least 50%. Makes for a more tense atmosphere than a jovial boozy night out I've found.

Not just at raves, it seems more prevalent in general life. I had to kick a chippy out of my house as he turned up to do some work off his face on coke.
