Struggling to resolve this guys am running windows 11 and, after updating it, a few days ago, I now cant access Facebook and Amazon and lots of other sites are just inaccessible or take an age to appear.

Is this a known issue?

Try flushing the DNS cache and see what happens?

Right click on the start menu and choose Command Prompt (Admin) or Windows PowerShell (Admin) from the menu.

Type in the command ipconfig/flushdns.

Thank you for offering a suggestion - unfortunately, it had no effect on the problem, I am sorry to say.

If it's just specific sites it does sound like it could be DNS related.
Yeah I was going to say similar. OP try using Cloudflare (1.1.1.2 / 1.0.0.2) or Quad9 (9.9.9.9 / 149.112.112.112) IPs for your DNS (just pop them into the NIC properties). Flush DNS again and see if that is any better. Maybes also just try a reboot of the router in case the problem is at that end (could be just a coincidence).

Thanks Firegod - using cloudfare settings seems to have fixed it !!

EDIT - I spoke too soon. It worked and got instant response on Facebook - was sharp and fast but I have refereshed the page and its back to not working again

Assuming not configuration. As using LAN and have a wifi motherboard, have you tried via using wifi connected to a mobile hotspot? This will help narrow down if possibly broadband related.

Realtek® 2.5GbE LAN chip (2.5 Gbps/1 Gbps/100 Mbps)

Gigabyte X870 Aorus elite wifi7
Might be worth reinstalling the network drivers.

LAN (last updated 10th Dec 2024): https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X870-AORUS-ELITE-WIFI7/support#support-dl-driver-lan

WiFi (both updated Nov/Dec 2024, I would check device manager to see if you have either the Realtek or MediaTek adapter): https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X870-AORUS-ELITE-WIFI7/support#support-dl-driver-wlanbt

Have you perhaps tried the tcp and winsock reset?

Run up CMD elevated (as Admin) then do:

netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset

Restart after doing both of those.

Do you have Gigabyte Control Center installed?

If yes then CFosSpeed driver could likely caused it. Try uninstalled Gigabyte Control Center or removed CFosSpeed or disabled CFosService in Task Manager Services.

Related to what AthlonXP1800 said above remove Realtek Dragon software if installed by the Gigabyte Control Centre (or better remove GCC entirely) I had so many issues with that POS software on my Aorus laptop.

Well, thank you guys - all the suggestions have been fantastic.

I have now uninstalled the Gigabyte control centre as suggested by AthlonXP1800, and all the cfosspeed crap too and Facebook and Amazon are back to normal

Cant believe software that is designed to assist, makes your life harder lol

Thank you, all, once again, for taking the time

Have you Disabled the Gigabyte control centre in the bios?

On my X870 Eagle it popped up asking me to install it every time I booted in to Windows so disabled it in the bios and no more nagging messages to install it.

Just in to say: It's always DNS :D

Glad it's fixed. I often try switching to use Google DNS servers on my router when I have some weird issues. Don't know why I did not think to realise there were of course other options.
