Best savings account?

The only reason they'd stay up after a rate drop is to try and hoover up as many people as possible using it as a loss leader. T212 did that last time, they may stretch it for 2 drops if they're feeling really fruity

Trading212 have dropped the rate to 5.03%

So Chase emailed this afternoon. Not only is the rate dropping on the 13th Feb as per the BOE base rate dropping, they're also increasing how far off the base rate they're tracking from the 19th Feb. It was 1.25%pts below, as of the 19th it'll be 1.5% below.

So the non-boosted rate will be 3% as of 19th Feb.

I think most of us have moved our money into T212 now if your Boosted has finished.

Was looking to withdraw mine soon to go towards a car, but might be swayed to do it earlier now. People seem to be content with T212, but there were a few horror stories about previously.

Yup, totally binned off Chase now. I'll use the Starling space for immediate access and look at opening the T212 cash isa.

I've maxed out my ISA with T212, the money in my Chase saver I want/need to be as easy access as possible as I want to use the funds in June to pay off my car balloon payment.

So I'm not sure where to move it to now. MSE has Coventry BS as a good place.

Should only take a few days to take cash out of an isa in into your current account or Whatever... So you could just initiate it say ten working days before you want it for the car payment to be safe?

Yeah that's what I'm going to do, I can't remember if it was Zopa that I was with or T212 - but one of them state three days/three working days.

I'm trying to not touch the ISA though and should be able to get the balloon payment saved between now and June when it's due.

I need to get round to doing this. Might try Starling or Marcus for the easy access, I often base my choice on ease of use and customer service rather than the interest rate if it’s marginal.

4% with Starling easy access seemed the best option for me, for some reason they aren't offering it to everyone though - not sure if that's changed though, I know a few on here got rejected for no reason at all!

Agreed it's not the best, there's better ones available - Leeds Building Society offer 4.6%, few others around that rate. T212 ISA is worth considering if you're not near your limit too.

It’s not the best, where is it higher though?
Certainly better than Chase what I just closed @3.5%

Top rates on normal savings. Charter Savings Bank pays the top rate for unlimited withdrawals at 4.57%. Or, if you won't need regular access to your savings, Coventry BS pays 4.85% but limits you to just four penalty-free withdrawals a year, while Chetwood Bank pays 4.66% but limits you to one withdrawal a day.

Top rates if you prefer a well-known name. Leeds Building Society pays the top rate at 4.4% and allows unlimited withdrawals.

Hit my allowance, might just try starling and put a small lump sum in it see how it is, providing they offer me the account.
