what headphones do you own thread - i own dt150's :)

I picked up some B&W PX7 S2's in the Christmas sale they had on. Comfy and sound decent enough to me. I use them for watching telly late at night as I like stuff loud. My only gripe is occasionally the audio from Firestick to them has a hiccup and it throws the lip synch off, until I stop the playing program and resume it. Pause/Play doesn't fix it.

Yeah the extra price is going on the network streaming features and extra connections and power - I suspect they both sound near identical given they adopt the same architecture and have NOS/OS.

Yea, there are clearly sizeable benefits to be had for the extra outlay if you need any of those extra features and it does seem good value for money compared to the competition for what it offers.

I gave up waiting for Spotify to release a premium tier audio subscription, moved to Apple Music as part of my EE perks package and never looked back.

Can immediately notice the difference in quality with songs with my DT1990’s.

Given I get Spotify for nothing (family sub) and I'm generally happy with the quality at 320k I'll stay put for now. I even tried Tidal on a 30 day trial and nothing clearly stood out to me as better so that further deterred me to switch.

Bought a few TWS recently including the Huawei Freebuds Pro 4.
However it's the Technics Az100 I'm most fond of...

Quality earbuds them, very underrated.

I do like Tidal - the mixes were clearly superior to other platforms I've used, which is what made the biggest difference imo. Bitrate, depth etc. less important, although I'm glad they've dropped that nonsense MQA stuff now. I'm using Apple Music as part of Apple One subscription and pretty happy but Tidal was definitely better for audiophiles when I had that.

Only problem is that a lot of what Tidal now says is FLAC is still actually MQA. They may have started to convert their library but they still have a hell of a long way to go.

Personally I use Qobuz with ROON, it's a great combo features wise and is actually 100% FLAC, a lot of which is at high sample rates.

@mrk Does the Onix Alpha require a USB split cable to provide power for best performance when using it at home with the computer? Or does it get enough from USB-C just fine, even with a phone?

Interested to know if anyone is using IEMs and what they are rocking? I remember once upon a time Shure had some great IEMs (I remember trying the 535 once and was pretty impressed) but I suspect things have come a long way since then.

Seen those mentioned quite a lot and they look pretty good! I was also looking at Truthear Nova's.

What are you using to drive the dusks?

HiFiMan now has an R2R amp out, if my K11 R2R ever dies outside of warranty then I'll be checking this out. No display which is a shame and it's vertical orientation but does look kinda cool and is a network streamer too.

Loads of power too, not bad at all for £230 I think.

I'm a sucker for the black and gold colours and that would fit right into my setup but the reviews of it have some reservations and seems to struggle a bit to drive some headphones the Fiio k11 and iFi Zen handle fine.

Yeah I have no intention of changing from the K11 R2R, but if it were to ever fail then this would be something I look at I guess.

Do you have a pair of IEMs already?

Personally I'd get a pricey wired IEM only to get an accurate and detailed sound as that kind of tuning is what I find hard to replicate.

If I wanted a V shape signature then a something like the 7hz Zero-2 would suffice, and then EQ after the fact via the Qudelix.

The Technics AZ100 are the first bluetooth IEMs for me that have a realistic timber. And when EQ'd to my taste, they make me wonder why I have any other head/earphones at all.

Wired? Don’t have a pair at the moment. The last I had many moons ago were Shure Se535. I do have Beoplay EX.

I’ll look into the 7hz zero-2, thanks!
