Ended up getting this LCI R56 Mini One. I do like the Ice blue.

Interested to hear what the real world range is this time of year on those? I'm booked in to see about changing mine for a new model tomorrow and unsure which route I will go.

Based on my current driving, that is also less than economical, the car is estimating about 173 miles on a full charge, will see how that changes in the coming weeks. Should be much closer to the manufacturer figures in the summer I suspect. I only do 20 miles maximum a day though, so it doesn’t matter for me.

Will hopefully get a charging pod sorted in the next couple of months.

Spent a few hours in the dealers today and I really like drive on the new model but ****ing detest the interior. So much good stuff going on, better visibility, better climate control, cruise control buttons far better, better brakes, less plastics (but I do worry about that gloss black arch and sill down the line. Lighter steering unless in go-kart mode but even then still lighter than mine. I found it a nicer drive all round but can't get my head round that dash trim panel and plastic seats :(

Shame they don't do a 5 door version of the electric because I probably would've given that a go. Still better than the monstrosity the Countryman has become!

Which one did you drive?

It’s definitely a love/hate thing. I wasn’t too sure at first, but I really like it now and at least it’s meant to be ‘sustainable’ I guess. Easy to keep clean, huge customisation on the main screen and everything else on the HUD. I do find the dash trim a bit weird. I miss my nappa leather. Will be interesting to see what they do next.

The main screen is the best I've ever used in a car where they remove most of the buttons. Climate control finally synching both sides so I no longer have to tweak both dials at once. It was interesting that once the sales person got out of the car the temperature synched itself where it was split before. Voice commands worked well and the navigation system was far better. Loved the infotainment now, they have tweaked out minor annoyances well from the model I have. Like being able to leave the car in sport mode all the time.

I drove the 1.5 because they didn't have another demonstrator available. Although it has a bit more power than my 1.5 it felt a bit more strangled doing it but the drive on the whole felt much easier and more comfortable. I will get one but don't think it's worth giving them mine after 18 months to leave an interior I love. I went full leather with mine when I got it and my wife has that 'vegan leather' on her car, now 6 years old and it's not holding up well. Wheel options don't grab me over what I have too, but it's all personal preference stuff over any actual problem with the car. Exterior has really grown on me.

They are pushing the Aceman for that now, but I just can't get on with the styling on that. Also it doesn't get a bigger motor to compensate for the extra weight so it's also slower.

Yeah they had the Aceman next to the Countryman and I wouldn't choose either over what else is out there. It will be interesting to see how the Aceman sells as to whether they then decide to do a 5 door mini. The Countryman has lost the look of being a blown up mini and any character it had in my eyes. I kinda regret not changing my wifes small suv for a Countryman last year while it was the older shape.

Pretty happy with the SE so far. Averaged 3.57 Miles per kilowatt-hour today and I didn’t drive it particularly gently. The pickup in speed is good, especially at the lower end and you certainly feel the front wheels squirm. Other than a bit of torque steer it handles well, not quite as planted as my last car, so cornering and the slightly softer suspension takes some getting used to. It’s as fast as I need it to be and a very comfortable drive for A to B.

Annoyingly they forgot to put the charging cable in the boot and I forgot to check, so will have to pop back one day after work.

Anyone had TPMS sensors replaced? Any idea on cost?

Had my wife's front tyres replaced this morning and the TPMS wet the bed on the way home. Won't repair, either gets stuck at 0% or 49% and gives up.

Took it back to the fitter and only 1 sensor is showing with low battery, other 3 are dead. Suspect it'll need the whole lot replacing.

I'm interested in this too. Mine on the f54 are 8 years old and will inevitably need replacing.

They're well over priced from the dealer so lm looking for oem replacements... thus far can't find much info.

It’s been a good week of motoring, loved getting into a warm car this morning and completely ice free, whilst having not lost any battery since it was still plugged in.

On the cheap tariff I have spent about £2 for my 100 miles of commuting for the week.

I did fail at auto park earlier though. Need to try that again.

Also getting the hang of one pedal mode, I actually quite like it for my commute, especially in traffic.

Does it have adaptive cruise? If so, try that in traffic, it’s really nice :)

Adaptive cruise is quite rare on the Mini SE, I had it on mine as a factory extra, it was only really available for a limited time before Mini removed it from the option list. It was a camera based system and didn't work particularly well, it would disengage in bright sunlight and I never really trusted it.

Yes, it’s amazing in traffic (which is most of my commute home these days)!

The only time on my commute it hasn’t worked well is when it detects parked cars on the side of the road that it thinks are part of the traffic.
