I was reading this article about a life drawing art class, going for more than 30 years, is being asked to move or cover up the nude models because of complaints.

What is happening to this country? People shouldn't be scared of nudity. There is nothing perverted about the human body.

I remember going to the public swimming baths as a kid. It was normal for men to walk around nude in the male changing rooms.

What are other people's opinions on this story?

However, Tony Swann, who took over the group in 2022, said that complaints were made last month about how the class was taking place between two children’s sessions. He claimed that the group was asked to either move the class to the evening, clothe the muses or change the venue.
Seems pretty reasonable to me.

Absolute storm in a teacup and OP has fallen for it.

And I'm glad we don't have to see other peoples wangs around a changing room.

I couldn't care less if I tried. Why do you care? Are you a life drawing enthusiast?

I think this country spends far too much time listening to complaining minorities.

It seems that half a dozen complainants can force change when a council or the government, elected by the people, can not.

It really is about time the rules were changed to stop this sort of madness from happening.

In this particular case, I can't see why anyone would complain. If they are there, seeing things they don't want to see, then WHY are they there? There is always the option to not be there!! I just don't see the problem.

Why do these things always end up with such random outrage.

"Could you find a way to not do nudity between childrens sessions at the community centre?"
'OMG IT'S LIKE THE TALIBAN'
Because lots of people spend their time trawling the internet looking for things to get upset about. Like this.

Do you miss the days of seeing men walking around naked at the swimming pool?
Wait, do people not walk naked round swimming pool changing rooms any more? I've not been to a swimming pool for like 5 years, but old men walking round stark naked was a key part of the male changing room experience from memory

Everyone seemed a lot hairier back in those days.

I've not been to a swimming pool that has dedicated men/women changing spaces in a long time. Last place I remembered which had it got knocked down a good 20 years ago.

Usually whenever I go now it's a communal area of stalls for either singletons or family changing.

I did quite a bit of life drawing when I was doing art at college... Many years ago now.
The model would be wearing a robe when not actually posing...

The only people in the room were the art teacher, the model and the students for that class...

I'm struggling to see an insurmountable problem here!

It's incredible that you wrote this without reading anyone else's response. Presumably, the actual solution here is to move it to be after the children's sessions. Job done.

The teacher in article states the class has signs on the door and people can't see in when there's a naked model..
So unless the model is wandering around in the buff outside the room I really don't see what the problem is.

A nation full of prudes. Only the UK and the US seem to be so hung up on benign nudity. It's all about protecting the kids until it comes to feeding or homing them.

I think this is similar to why the pee stone/trough got removed from the male toilets. To much insecurity going on. Now it's little protective bowls stuck on the wall.
