*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

MSRP im guessing would be around 399-499 for 9700 (tho reality be 600), the 9700xt be like 599 - 699 but reality will be 899-1000. :/

UNLESS they used this time to stack shops well enough to not sell out in 2 seconds per shop. I.e made thousands of the boogers and has loads more on way to stores in march.

You just remind me of people every generation that would make ludicrous price predictions and slowly these users dreams came true.

If you are right however it will unfortunately be another fail for AMD. Won't gain market share like that.

Well everyone else was having a go guess prices so i did it too :D

Not too fussed tbh i like keeping up with news of hardware but i dont think im rdy to upgrade yet but its fun to think about new stuff now and then. Will be interesting to see what the prices are like when there out tho, see how off most are or accurate they were.

Hmm im wondering how much of a paper launch the 7xxx cards were vs nvidia launches. Anyone remember?

When the train actually arrives:

As soon as they announce pricing probably

Everyone now as those performance figures keep coming out:

Everyone, well almost everyone (humbug et el will be happy AMD charging higher prices) after pricing has been announced:

How would you know though? You just said you have bad eye sight and a bloody 1080p monitor. Lol

I have 4K monitor and don't have bad eyesight.

so you bought a monitor that is too much for your GPU to handle. I mean 12gb RAM for 4K. rookie mistake.

If upscaled looks better than normal then normal isn't optimised is it.

Also I've put you on ignore so don't bother replying.

If true, it seems like they've done the hard parts i.e. deciding to delay, making tweaks, building stock and everything else. Pricing the card should be pretty simple, depending on their real intentions. Very excited to see what happens!

I really hope these numbers are pure raster. I really only play il2 great battles flight sim, which is old and has none of the fancy stuff. There are a couple other combat flight sim games on the horizon that will have ray tracing & or dlss/fsr. Looking for an upgrade for my 3070. Been close to pulling the trigger on a 7800xt, 7900gre & 4070 super over the last few weeks. Been holding out for the 9070 series. I will only need the non xt if these numbers hold up.

I won't be happy but I am brand agnostic so if the performance figures are correct and I have to pay 799 for a very good AIB rather than a noisy low end 5070ti that is what I will do.

Those figures, and the choice of the 7900 GRE for comparison, give me some hope. $499/$599 would give a decent price/performance improvement in raster (albeit still on the low side for generational uplift), and a huge price/performance improvement in RT.

They can't cost much more than that, surely?

Ah you edited your post. Let me reply to the edit too.

You are playing on potato 1080p 60hz. I am playing maxed out 4K 240Hz OLED with RT with my £575 GPU I got brand new over a year ago.

But I am the one doing it wrong. Lol.

Do we know if AIBs for AMD actually improve the build quality on the cards over and above what AND deem as the base spec?

Watching the Buildzoid tear down on that blown 5090 Astral terrifies me that ASUS are literally just cutting so many corners with their cards, I’d be interested to know how much actual difference in components there are on the entry ASUS 5090 to the Astral version as I suspect very little and they are literally just charging more for the name, slightly higher OC, possibly better binned silicon and likely a better cooler.

If you watched that video you will know he complained that Nvidia and their AIB's don't put fuses on their PCB's, he said fuses stop the PCB from burning up, they stop the components from setting on fire.

Sapphire at least do put fuses on, this is my £480 Sapphire Pulse 7800 XT PCB, i have marked where the fuses are.

lol I will probably be compelled to chop my 7800XT into a well known purveyor of used electronics soon!

9070XT for £600 (hope OCUK have a few msrp models) would be a relative steal but there were XTXs dropping to £670 in November which it closely aligns to in performance.
