Is anyone else picking PGA Tour 2K25 up, I have been playing on early access over the weekend. The career is def improved and filled out some more and the ball physics and how it reacts with the ground is improved which I like. Multiplayer ranked being restricted to Pro swingstick only certainly makes it tough, I can't swing it straight to save my life and even being slightly off results in massively wayward shots, tots of practice required!

Might have to take a look, enjoyed the previous one I have on the Switch; which I think it actually 2K21; I bought the last EA one on PC and I wasn't overly impressed

Playing on PC and it's a big upgrade from 2k23. Graphically it's far superior and on a par (pun intended) with EA, but the gameplay is miles ahead. The new swing mechanics on pro and up are great and make it much more difficult (for me at least!)

It's gettting 8's and 9's which is deserved IMO.

The difficulty seems great so far. I felt EA PGA tour you could bomb every drive to an inch of your target and then stiff every pin, pro difficulty on 2k25 feels really rewarding.

The Masters got me looking for a golf game, I ended up playing PGA Tour Golf II on the Mega Drive... doesn't look as good as this but still fun after all these years.

Used to love playing PGA Tour II on the MD; also was a huge fan of PGA European Tour (recognised a few more of the players at the time!) - that's it I'm digging it out

I too recently bought this game, I'm on PC using an XB1 controller. The swinging feels better and more consistent than 2k23, but I still suck at the game. My practice swings always feel great, but for some weird reason, clicking the stick in to address the ball again just throws my swing off and it could end up going anywhere.

I doubt I'll ever be able to play this game competitively, so I just enjoy hitting the course and trying to improve little by little.

If I keep hitting into the rough or shrub, shot after shot, that gets a little annoying and I just swing for the sake of it to get to the next hole.

Otherwise, game feels great.

Picked it up some week ago. No big problem with the swing. zero practise swings. If I feel vibration on the backswing I stop and redo. A tip is to just move down so the animation starts it make it easier get the rhytm right as well since your downswing should be 4 times faster. If you are to fast with the backswing it get harder with everything.

Evo swing is a nightmare though I avoid that at all costs.

What is odd about the game is even if you remove helps it still very much like to make calculations for you. if you are in a sandtrap or in the rough close to the hall you generally can just whip it and it will be half decent anyway... Also on approach shots though at least you can remove the factor in the wind. Its the swing mechanic that is challenging so of course don´t help if you do the calculations right if you swing bad lol

Anyway I like it but you level up way to slow and it´s almost impossible to earn vc at a decent rate. Which you must have to level up your character. 2k want you to buy vc so if you do practise sessions you earn 1! vc! To get up one single point of like 10000s it´s 175 vc. And the max regular award is like 150 vc IF you buy the premium pass. There is challenges to complete as you play but the payoff there is incredible sparse also.

I don´t know how long it will take to get my magician to 99. after 30 hours at 85 so I recon 60h the absolute minimum. Probably will take way more as I have less challenges to complete. Then there is 6 archetypes where you start the others at 74 if you get the first to 90...

The grind is absolutely horrendous. I work full time but all free time including weekends I have been pushing like crazy. Am stuck at 89 for days!!! I want to get to 90 so I can start to play with other types. Then I want 500 vc so I can reset on top of that but just earning 500 vc is a shorter grind just 2 full working days I recon.

The insanity of it all!

That said I found a nice balance currently in my career. I really need perfect solid rounds to win majors. I did start the british open brilliantly but I totally messed up the last 5. I did make the cut but only just! A great comeback the second round but it was only good enough for 3rd despite winning that one by 2. I play on master swing. I do on some shots actually have to suffer evo. Think it´s on uneven lies not quite sure why I get them sometimes.
