UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 6th March 2025]

You’d have thought people would realise by now that involving promising young players with England never really helps anything…

He's had some very good performances but also some indifferent ones which is expected with his age. I don't think rushing him into the first team is the best idea, give him some time in the U21s first.

Good overall performance by Arsenal but I thought the scoreline flattered a bit, I didn't think we were massively better than some other games. When I've seen Arsenal score 7 in the past they've been a lot better. We had under 2 xG which kinda tells you what you need to know about the keeper albeit some good finishes from tight angles etc (i.e. we took tough chances really well especially Nwaneri so you'd expect to outperform xG).

I was saying MLS needed subbing at HT but fair play to Arteta he didn't even wait that long. Not worth the risk of a red card. Needs to work on his poker face as well he looked round at the ref like a kid waiting to be told off for something haha :)

re: Nwaneri, historically I've always been against putting kids into England too early, but I've also been proven wrong about that e.g. Owen and Rooney (still think I was right about Walcott though). I've mellowed a bit in recent times and feel like it should be a pure merit thing so on the one hand I would put him in if he's one of the best in his position, but equally I wouldn't put him in just 'to have a look at him' or for him to gain experience.

Really looking forward to the PSG/Liverpool game tonight. Could be a cracker. PSG are a good team when they are on song. Will Liverpool stifle them or will they manage to play themselves into the game.

Liverpool: Alisson, Van Dijk, Konate, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Salah, Jota, Robertson, Gravenberch, Alexander-Arnold.

Subs: Jaros, Kelleher, Endo, Nunez, Chiesa, Jones, Elliott, Tsimikas, McConnell, Quansah, Nyoni.

Team news up, what we expected really, be good to get it done in first leg
