OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

I find it hard to believe this is genuine gamer + scalper demand. It doesn't make sense that there are multiple thousands of these being sold today and that demand coming from gamers and scalpers. I can't think where else it could be coming from, but there aren't that many gamers wanting a mid range upgrade surely.
yes there are the covid times so many people picked up 3060/6700/6600 ect and all about 4 years old so its time in the circle of life

as for mid range yes and no at 1440p its all you really need

nVidia couldnt meet the demand they generated, then the product was found to be not all it was cracked up to be

this launch has inherited all those potential 50xx buyers who either missed out first time around or lost confidence

There are many still running high end 2000 or 3000 series cards or mid range 6000 series from team red who have been thoroughly unimpressed by releases since then and I include myself in that with a 3080. The sad thing is, I was ready with my account logged in and would’ve bought a white steel legend XT if I could have got one for MSRP but only ten at that price, and the website ******** the bed for hours meant I’m not not going to buy at all now. At £529 it’s great value. At closer to £650 I’ll wait.
I would have purchased as well. Along with a new monitor. I still purchased a new monitor but not through OcUK.

This periodic dropping of new stock is a terrible idea. I get to the point of payment and then the card is sold out. If all the stock was available at the same time, I and many others would be able to complete our orders. Instead we're back of the queue again when new stock gets added.
Just think how much traffic it drives to the site and the forums though! PR PR PR!

There's been plenty of upgrade paths for 3060 level cards at the mid range in the past two years. Why is today the day that the whole PC owning population appears to want to upgrade?

I'm relatively happy with the 5080...ish...if I keep telling myself that.

See you are a Southampton lad. I'm in Bitterne.

I think they may have stopped the MSRP stock mostly, as the site just wasnt working earlier.

lots of new accounts on here tonight
Yup. But some of us have been loyal OC customers for years. I expect mostly AMD gpu users who have never had to deal with this much hassle to get a card and finally decided to get in on the debate. Rather than being able to simply just buy a thing with no grief.

4000 cards were expensive and 5000 is very underwhelming. Also AMD are not releasing anything in the high end so this is as good as it gets this year.

my point is that many who had a fistful of dollars ready to buy in the next nvidia drop probably saw the 9070xt reviews and decided to try this drop instead.

i'm on the other side of town in totton, but work in northam ;)

I was one of those Potential 50xx buyers. Cancelled my 5080 pre-order at the other place place today and got myself a 9070xt. No more waiting around and my bank account is around £500 better off.
