OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

It's a bit frustrating to keep reading this, I've been an OCuk customer for over 20 years but never saw the point of creating a forum account, but felt I had to create one to reply to these type of posts. I can't even link my forum account to my OCuk account maybe because it's so old  I have a 3060ti I brought during the chip shortage and had to pay stupid money, and since that I've said to myself I'm not going to be a fool again and pay way over the odds for a card. The 9070xt is a great price and a worthwhile upgrade. Everyone (excluding the bots of course) should have the option to purchase one. I've been refreshing since 14:00 and praying I can pick one up during the next drop. But we'll all still probably be sniped by the bots anyway, non forum user aren't the issue the bots are.Sorry for the rant.
no need to justify here, im 57yrs and love launch day, full on entertainment :D myself toying with buying as 3070 showing its age, but this is amd, price cuts a possibility especially with non xt imo

similar situation here, i just want any upgrade from my 3070 where im not getting scalped
It's incredibly frustrating you see a card adertised as £XXX and then the slight oc'd ones have a silly £100-£200 mark up on them, for a tiny oc and a slightly better cooler. I don't upgrade my PC very often I went from a 970ti to my 3060ti, oh how I yearn for the good old days of the 900 and 1000 series cards with good performance, reasonable pricing and high availability! I'm not normally one to try and get anything on launch day but with the news they'll increase post launch I feel I need to try and get one ASAP.

Yeh. £569-£799 spread for one model of card is ridiculous.

what cpu are you all running with the 9070xt?

i have just recently upgraded to 5700x3d in anticipation
This is for my daughter’s PC which was my hand me down to her at Christmas It’s a 7800X3D with an X670E-A. Her GPU isn’t working out as it’s got some issues.

I’ve no current plans to upgrade my own rig as it’s an X870E Taichi Lite with a 9800X3D and a 4090 FE.

agreed, but only ppl to blame are gamers, they pay high prices, so as a business you want to maximize your profit , you keep pushing prices up to see if the market will pay it

Any other new posters wanna come in and just make a post about how disappointed they are, then never post again until the next card release they are interested in?

Should I get a medal for buying stuff from Amazon? OCUK isn't a charity last time I checked but its frustrating new posters ******** up this forum just to cry about a card they can't buy from the only UK retailer that currently has any to even sell.

Come stay, come post - the forums need new blood, but posting and running is lame.

I’ve not known an AMD launch be like this for a long while. I think the FSR4 quality improvements have made a difference despite it only being available on a few games.

Any chance of a partial refund for my steel
Legend @Gibbo? It seems mine and a few others bought them at £649 and yet they were on at MSRP at 2pm and now they are back at MSRP again.

Was the price increase a mistake with all the issues?

Nope Asrock caved in and offered to let me do 10 more.

Nothing we can do about your orders sorry, apart from return it for a full refund.

what did he post? controversial?

I was also frustrated earlier but think of it this way

OCUK did post about the lots being staggered - other e- tailers never even had prices up beforehand

Gibbo posting shortly before putting them up works- I managed to nab one only because of this at 5.30 after sitting in the same queues refreshing since 1.58

Even popping on tonight to put some on is great - but rest assured you need to be lightning quick

Have your card details copied & if you are using a Banking app have it open & ready - I missed out on cards at 5.15 purely because it took about 40 seconds start to finish

Hope all get what they want

I don't think people are frustrated with the retailers, I'm cetainly not I'm sure they're doing the best they can and it feels like there's huge pent up demand right now. I think OCuk's drip feed approach has been quite a good idea as it give us a couple of shots at success.

I think it could work, _if_ when you were paying for a card it didn't just disappear. Twice today I've got to the point of authorising payment with the bank, to find that it can't complete the order because the card is out-of-stock. At least hold it for a short period whilst we checkout.
