happens often, same happened with oasis tickets, luckily i got cheap ones, but prices then doubled, supply and demandDynamic scam more like, a set price should stay set. You don't benefit some customers then go oh the next lot let's raise the price, then oh we'll lower it again to benefit the next lot. Odd business practice. Oh well we're the suckers for buying it I suppose
My point is they won't as the vast majority of them will return what they bought in 14-28 days. You do know the cards being sold today, the ones that the rebate applied to, are just a tiny proportion of the overall stock levels don't you?Oh i'm hoping they get screwed hard, I really hope AMD have good supply and can flood the market, even at 630 they will sell out, and yes you're right the scalpers will be done over, but we kinda need them to fall on a sword and punish them.
Hopefully we get regular updates from AMD, retailers on stock supply too, if they are transparent it will hopefully ward off the scalpers too.
I do find it funny though, they are scalping MSRP cards for 700+ when you can buy a better XT model at a similar price and they stay in stock a lot longer.
If I may, I'm pretty sure highly reputable youtubers, hardware unboxed, pc builder and a host of others have said that the steel legend was the cheaper budget card alongside the pulse & gigabyte variant, so interesting to see your view as you say it's a higher end card but what do youtubers know.. with their millions of combined subscribers, that's why on every-site selling the cards alongside OC it was part of the 3 cheapest variants of 9070xt also riddle me this, 569.99 + 30-60 pound increase as you mentioned puts the card at a maximum price of 630.. so?? Why did mine cost 657.98 I clearly don't know mathsThe Steel Legend was never an MSRP card. Asrock don't offer a base card, as such they offered us support to sell 10 at MSRP at a big cost to them, we sold those 10 earlier today.
End of today they had permission to do 10 more, those were sold tonight.
I spoke to them this evening, they cannot authorise any additional support, the Steel Legend cost a lot more than a Pulse/Reaper as its a higher-end card with more expensive cooler, hence its correct price is £659 which gives OcUK 8% margin, the lucky ones who got one at £569 are very lucky as that card will never be that cheap again.
As such if you are unhappy with yours, you are welcome to cancel your order for a full refund, but we have no more funds to be able to offer any more at a loss.
Ordered a RX 9070 XT Hellhound at 16:16 today order confirmed but nothing from DPD yet, guess the team there are flat out still. Had the option to change delivery type a couple of times but it timed out and then eventually just jumped to payment but says dpd pickup point however I didnt specify one so maybe thats why no notification from DPD?

Look I appreciate the explanation, thank you, easier to swallow the bitterness lol, a frustrating day for a lot of us I suppose. Just a bit of a gut punch for a non overclocked card to be at such a cost, I guess I'll just stick with it.Asrock charge us a lot more for a Steel Legend compared to a Reaper / Pulse. Hence why the latter are £629 versus Steel Legend £659
Asrock have Challenger in their lineup as the price competitive part, as they had none ready for this launch, they went with their next card up the Steel Legend, hence it costing them more to do.
If they cost us same as Pulse and Reaper, we would sell them for the same, but they simply do not.
Asrock could have managed their MSRP better, but in a way I pressured them to do more, they decided to do more and I offered it, in hindsight that was a mistake now with that extra batch of 10 coming after several had already sold at £659.
As its a rebated price and it is now all used up, there is nothing we can do apart from offer you a full refund and cancel the order.
I did some maths but as I'm useless with numbers what would you say is the UK MSRP because I've only ever seen it in dollars, i want to see how wrong i got it.i wasnt paying more that msrp, thats where value is, anything above, just not worth it too me, i got lucky

OK so where have i gone wrong $600 MSRP, yes? $600 converts to £465, 20% VAT = £93 (465+93 = 558), 8% minimum retailer margins (iirc) = £45 (558+45 = 603)£554 at today's exchange rates roughly.

£569 was totally fair – and if I'd been able to complete the purchase on the one I had in my basket at 1:58, I would have been very happy indeed.£569 seemed fair. Anything more is a rip off.
