C63S or F80 M3 or...?

I bought a W205 (S205 to be precise, not a fan of the saloon) over an F80 M3 but I am still tempted by an F82...however the noise in the C63 is something else. Sport+ with all the exhaust valves open, and you can hear the turbos spool up too.

Certainly not MB's finest era. But the F80 is hardly the pinnacle of BMW interiors :p
It's funny that performance car discussions on here inevitably segway onto interiors :D I didn't think the F80s interior was all that great. I mean it was ok, but I felt the interior in my 2011 S5 was nicer. My C63s (C205) was just ok too; it didn't rattle, the performance seats were nice but again it didn't feel like a £70k+ car. I had to go to a C7 RS6 and F90 M5 before I felt the interior quality was at a level I was happy with, but thats a whole car segment above.

If interior quality is important, how about a late B8 RS5 n.a V8? Looks good, goes well, good interior and great sports seats. Only has 2 doors though. If you need more practicality - B8 RS4

Wait until you see some of the ****-poor quality plastics on the new G90 M5

I have issues with the size and how it looks anyway, I don't see myself ever owning one. Nor the current M3/4 with those nostrils, I just can't see past it. To me this is worse than when the Bangle era cars first dropped, I actually didn't mind them - heck some of those designs look super appealling now, especially compared to the current ranges. C'mon BMW, sort it out :(

Nostrils are being stretched sideways by the look of it :p

WTF, that is truly hideous. What on earth is going on with those bods at BMW? The front and rear end of that disguised car is revolting

I'm reading all posts, I do want to scratch that 6.2l V8 itch, but as always, a bargain will be a deciding factor in my purchase decisions. :D

I've had an itch for an V8 for awhile now, the C63 has always been on my whish list, the F80 on the other hand is another great performance car that has dropped in price. I ideally would like to spend 25k, stretching to 30k tops. Thoughts? Is it doable? Are there other better alternatives?

When it comes to the C63, what would be the better car the 6.2l NA or 4.0 Bi-Turbo?

Better alternative: Mustang GT. Stick my mustang next to a C63 or M3 and I know which one everyone will be looking at - and more importantly which one sounds the best ;)

If you don't want to go that way though.. I'd go for the M4 over the M3 or C63 myself.

I'm going to test drive an M2, M3 F80 and M4 in April, going to see how they compare. I wrote down all the advantages and disadvantages and was left with these 3.

When it comes to these kind of cars, don’t just start a spec war on paper to determine if they are good/bad, just test drive everything you can, it’s amazing how some cars just leap out at you once you sit in and push the start button..

I have discounted cars on paper before and through circumstance ended up test driving them and found they where way better than the cars I’d selected on spec and ended up buying them..

Don't trust other people's reviews/opinions either

It's a good shout. I think you will find the M3 & M4 very similar if they are both F8x. I prefer the way the M3 looks

I'd have an M2C over an F80 any day of the week tbh, although with the right driver I suspect the F80 would be faster. I had an E92 M3 and tried the F80 as a potential replacement and really struggled with it. It was a bit 'nothing, nothing, nothing, backwards into a hedge on fire'. I think they sorted a lot of that though with the mapping? It was exciting but not in a way I particularly enjoyed tbh.

The M2C can be a bit like that too but you need to be pushing it to get it to that point, it doesn't really catch you out as such.

That V8 thing though, I miss that. The sound of the E92 was epic, even if by today's standards it wasn't that quick. It just added to the experience. I'm sure the C63 is similar - I've only ever been a passenger one of those which makes them hard to have an opinion on, other than omg they sound epic.

I'm in slightly the same dilemma I had with the E92 (now with the M2C). What next? I've had the m2c new since 2019, and it's only got 27k on it...and I've yet to find anything that's so much better that makes it worth spending on.

M3/M4/M2...whichever you choose you'll end up with something a bit special! That's a nice place to be.
