I'm planning to build a PC based on new parts but in old vintage case, like those beige AT mini tower ones.
Anyone have a spare old PC?

Anyone here did something similar?
I will need ATX motherboard tray with rear panel - 10 years ago you could still buy those - are they still in stock somewhere? mATX would be fine.
If not, I could just butcher some cheap mATX case and dremel out bits form it :)

Would love to find some case like this one :)

Made me think of my old Globalwin 802 case. I'm sure I purchased it from OcUK pre modded with several fans installed along with a fan speed switch on the front.

would be a lot simpler if you just bought an old beige ATX case.. my windows 98 PC is in a beige ATX case, that will pretty much take any ATX /MATX board. some standoffs might be in the wrong place

I was thinking of the Silverstone FLP01 retro case but measuring it up against my Kolink Satellite shows how much wider it is so putting some mini-ITX parts doesn't seem much point. Probably easier to 3D print a frontage for the Satellite because of hard it will be to get an actual FLP01!

Pi board in my old Gateway 2000 laptop might be interesting though.

Not sure about long term forum members
Access to MM
Rules changed over the years
If you have access or if not you will need 1,000 posts
A request in wanted section is bound to find
Someone hoarding some old pc cases like that

Must admit I hoard stuff
But not those
Another option
Go to local council tip people throw those out all the time
At my local tip
I just bung the guy 20 quid to let me look through
The container where pc parts are put in

Edit
And i used to use 80mm to 120mm adapter
As mentioned 80mm were lot louder
Even if no one sells those now
Should be easy for someone to 3d print them

These cases are very sought after now for retro enthusiasts and generally in poor condition. However Evercase does new old stock cases that might work for you. Hopefully not a competitor as they do quite specialist looking cases and you can't buy any actual modern cases.

sorry, I meant if I got AT case, then would need to cut out and stick in ATX mobo tray etc

Tried your local boot sale? The one I frequent has a few cases like this appear for sale from time to time.

Looking forward to updates on this, it'll look awesome.
Thanks :)
Well, it might be good, depends what case I'll hunt down, still looking for one.
I would rather to grab ATX, then AT and mode the whole guts for it.

I may re-start my modding history and do a new project, I'll see how it evolves..

You can mount floppy in it! Cool :)
I hope they will make more of those cases, as they confirmed - like mATX would be perfect, adding 3.5" floppy bay.
But I WANT that clock and switches bay :)

SILVERSTONE!!! SELL THAT 5.25" bay separately! :D
