** The Official Space Flight Thread - The Space Station and Beyond **

Interesting if true. The move to improve performance from V1 Starship, which for all it's weakness on re-entry damage was seemingly resilient with regards to the engine operation, has introduced a weakness in the engine connections. But given there was a previously resilient if non-optimal solution one assumes this can be corrected it's more a matter of how quickly.

They redesigned the down pipes for the v2 and that seems to be causing them the vibration issues. The v1 didn't have that issue from what we know, so there is in theory a fix, go back to the old design of down pipe. Just spacex mass production before final product biting them in the ass.

SpaceX Has Finally Figured Out Why Starship Exploded, And The Reason Is Utterly Embarrassing

interesting take on the end part

In 2011, Musk said he would put a man on Mars within 10 years. That was 14 years ago.

In 2020, he said he would put a man on Mars within 6 years.

In 2024, he said he would attempt the first crewed flights to Mars in 2030.

Aside from the ever-shifting timeline, he still has no plan for a sustainable colony, and no technology to make it viable.

A low Safety factor doesn’t mean you are being cheap. Arguably designing for a low safety factor can be quite expensive.

A low safety factor usually means a lighter design which is probably what they are aiming to achieve.

It’s not a good idea to dismiss a whole article on one wrong thing but if they can’t even get such a simple concept right due to their biases it is really hard to give the, the benefit of the doubt.

Go back to speakers corner with your deranged rambling.

There is literally an Elon Musk thread there for people to go ramble about him in. This ain’t the thread for such nonsense and I don’t come here to read such nonsense either

It isn’t deranged rambling when every part of it is true. It also had nothing to do with the (utterly rubbish) article, so this has been a series of strange posts…
