NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

I watch about over a hour of gtc last nite couldnt believe he didn't mention the melting connecters or black screens on the 50 series or the missing rops ..wee man's a joke..

Was never going to mention the major issues with their cards on stage, the investors and shareholders would not be too happy. :D

I have seen some Astrals on the Bay go for 3500 quid yesterday so their is still some daft people about.

There certainly is, but I've just noticed a bit of a change recently. Some of the more ridiculous price cards are staying in stock for longer, more people cancelling expensive pre-orders to go for cheaper in stock models, more people saying no and willing to wait for the more sensibly priced models.

Better stock levels is helping obviously.

Not sure if it's real stock but there was a single £3300 Aorus Master Ice at a retailer for at least the last hour or two.

I think you absolutely do! The new bios reduced the noise for sure but it is still a very loud card.
Granted I'm on quiet mode, my case fans are louder lol and the card maxes out at around 75 degrees fully overclocked balls to the wall. I can understand that some people might not be comfortable with those temps but I've been running cards around there for years with no issues.

Yeah I noticed that lol I’ve got a feeling there’ll be loads soon.
That's some optimism. Most places I've seen are suggesting that stock is going to be an issue for a while outside of the report that said this month was going to have plenty.

What do you get for your 3 grand a bit quieter and a bit cooler and in two years time when you sell it to buy the 6090 you will get as much as a FE or basic model.
I mean yes, but it actually does have extra features that other AIBs and FEs don't have - the sense pins and extra hdmi port. Obviously if that's worth an extra grand is debatable imo, and one of those (sense pins) is basically a feature to a problem that shouldn't even exist

Just got shipping confirmation Palit GR is shipping. I'm astounded 1) I got it for RRP, 2) it's actually being fulfilled and not a SNAFU (knock on wood).

Now I'm just hoping my trusty 6 year-old EVGA SuperNova 1000W is up to the challenge. The old girl's seen a lot :)

Edit: If it's any indication of supply trends, the store is not one that normally sells high-end cards and normally don't get newer models until well after launch. Certainly not one I would have expected to have 5090s so soon, in any case (or at all). So, maybe the winds are changing a bit.

I have had access to two Astrals and even with the bios update, the cards are still notably loud. It's not as bad as it was when it was originally released but it is a far cry from being silent, especially compared to a card like the Aorus Master 5090. Still a fantastic card though.

Hi all what's the general consensus on UK stock of the 5090, will it improve in the few weeks as I had read somewhere the end of March the stock will improve massively
Going off posts by Gibbo on this forum and from the updates at the queue place, stock is expected to increase significantly by the end of March. What we don't know, however, is whether that will affect all models, or just a subset. There's been talk of certain models having more severe shortages, or even being discontinued entirely.

Edit: Should have said - even with dramatically improved stock, we are likely still a good while from getting to the point where you can just pop online at a whim and buy a card at or near MSRP.

I hope they don't decide to stop making the Astral 5090 :(

new update on air suprim from other place. 2 messages sent monday and tuesday (was told previously that it was due on monday) went unanswered. spoke to live chat today and told me no update but while my estimated dispatch is still tomorrow (20th. pushed back daily every day for 3 weeks) they said my new estimated dispatch is the 28th. so theve ethier "lost" a stock of msi or its gone somewhere else as i remember @Nitefly saying his was the 28th and hes further back in the queue from me. last time i partake in this and il wait the 6 months i think for stock to be okay before i buy

Lmao how?

I know, 13 iPad Pro, 2TB, with Nano-Texture = £2,400. Add Cellular = £2,600

I've never owned an iPad, so in my mind, they're still the devices of hazy memories, about £500-£600. But obviously that was many, many years ago.

Back in 2017, the iPad Pro was around £600, the same way a 1080Ti was £700... :(
