The problem Red Bull may face though is how many young drivers want to risk their careers at the team? Given the number that have tried and failed, it wouldn't be a surprise if there's been some young drivers who would rather go to other teams. Which will only make the problem worse as their potential talent pool for that second seat reduces.

How many ex Red Bull drivers are on the grid? Compare that to the other academies and how bad they are at bringing drivers through.

I think red bull as a team have messed up - they put all their eggs in 1 basket with max at RBR and created a hyper specific car to him and no one else - to the point, where for example if they take Yuki and put him in the RBR he’ll be a lot worse than at RB - i think the RB is ‘GENERALLY’ a much better car …… emphasis on the generally - the RBR is a horrendous machine that can only operate 1% either side of its design then the car falls off a cliff…….if Yuki was offered the RBR seat, i would imagine he would turn it down.

No driver wants the RBR seat now, the cars awful (it can be fast, but also really bad & awful)
He has been moaning about not being considered, I think he would want to go into the RBR. Whether he can deliver anything, is another matter. But nonetheless it would be a pay upgrade atleast and the shot at finishing on potential podiums.

Also he has said he is ready - https://www.planetf1.com/news/yuki-tsunoda-ready-replace-under-fire-liam-lawson-red-bull.

I feel you're post is meant to be a counter to mine but pointing out how many ex-Red Bull drivers there are is kinda making my point for me.

There's no doubt that Red Bull academy has brought a lot of drivers in and, without looking, I'm sure there's plenty in their roster still. But currently would you want the second seat at Red Bull? To reach F1 there has to be a certain level of arrogance so I'm sure some would but, from the outside, it looks like one of the it's the worst seats to have in F1.

But that's not thinking like a supremely confident F1 driver who believes he will be world champion if he's given the opportunity.

You're thinking like an average normal British person in a McJob. These people are not that.

I'm not talking necessarily about arrogance but an ingrained belief that "I could do Max Verstappen man on man in the same machinery"

I see Lando is under a lot of scrutiny already owing to his runner up position last year. A lot of media expectations on him it seems. Hee seems really cool and relaxed about it, like he's been training to just take things a session at a time and it is what it is. It'll be interesting to see if this lasts the whole season if he's still fighting for the WDC later on.

I'm hoping for some good racing this morning, the sprint was a little dull yesterday.

Lawson starting from the pits after a suspension setup change, also on hards (with Stroll and Bearman) vs. mediums for the rest.

Albion, Tsunoda, and both Saubers getting investigated after the race for practice start infringements, apparently.
