Gamers, What's Your Audio Set Up?

Wh

Ahh right ok. Might cancel the order then.

What exact model dac did you get?

Does it have mic input? USB connector and native loopback feature?

This maybe something that might suit your needs,

You can pledge here,

Next batch of delevies deliveries due in April, £130 + £10 shipping, pretty amazing for the price, gaming orientated DAC/AMP with 2.1w (2100mW) power on the balanced out and 600mW on the single ended, that will power practically any headphone you throw at it competently.

It's crazy what you can get for your money today in terms of power and sound quality, really makes me question the value or my higher end gear.

How does it compare to the sound Blaster g8?

Hi all.

Ok let me make a proper post regarding what i am after .

After some initial research i have done, i am looking for a modular system.

Headphone/mic DAC

Speaker amp to replace my Hifi device below:

Do note that the speakers above are quite beefy and this old hifi system has served me well and doesnt even use/need a seperate sub woofer as these speakers connected to that hifi packs a punch and can easily host a mini nightclub hip hop rave in my home!

Right now, that hifi system is connected to a red and white plug that goes into one 3.55mm jack that goes to the line out/speaker port at the back of my pc.

The speakers use a black and white thin cable that connects t the hifi(no bana plus, direct wire

Use cases:
• Playing video games
• Watching videos
• Work conference calls
• Discord chat
• Listening to music

Main devices i want this to work with:
• Desktop PC
• Macbook pro
Here is how it should look like

super deduper

I currently use a Bose wired headphones taht has a 3.5mm jack but want the dac to be flexible enough so i can upgrade my headphones to something way better like the HD600's.

The mic i use is a USB HyperX QuadCast S

What kind of microphone do you have? or not have?

If you have a USB microphone then it needs to go directly into the computer.

If you have an XLR microphone then you need more an interface...

Most gamer type of DAC/amp have a 3.5mm TRS analogy input.

The microphone part will limit your choice quite a bit, most Hifi DAC/amp don't have a microphone in because people don't need it for that kind of purpose, whereas Gaming DAC/amp do.

If i can get a much better dac without mic then I don't mind going down that route and just keep using usb mics.

You could go something like this, 70w Into 4ohm will likely be enough but without knowing the speaker specs we can't be certain how much they need.

If you want to spend the full 350 though you could go for a combined dac/headphone amp unit and then a separate more powerful speaker amplifier.

Not sure there's many if any with multiple USB inputs so you may need to work with swapping USB cables or use optical out from one of the machines into it.

Look into a "stereo digital integrated amplifier" one with headphone amp. Not sure how you'd use mic though.

ideally one with USB input also. You'll need matching digital inputs, ie if your PC has coaxial out, your mac optical out then you'll need one with one coaxial one optical

Upgrade your speakers

Emotiva have TA2 pre amp, that's a pre amp only

A AVR will do what you need as they have enough analogue inputs and digital inputs plus have room EQ, headphone amp, bass management. These will work in stereo or 2.1, or if you want >3 speakers ie 4.1 or 5.1

A USB mic would be fine for 99% of people IMO. Especially if you are only using it for gaming, Teams Meetings or even FaceTime.
I have a couple of blue yeti mics and agree with this., setup correctly a blue yeti usb mic will out perform some of the more budget XLR mics.

One of my yeti's is the now discontinued pro version, I have compared them both and the old discontinued pro version does sound better, the pro version is worth hunting out on the used market.

Blue Yeti is what I have, not sure if it's the pro one or not but it's like 10 years old now.

The Yeti Pro only came in silver and black colour, it had an improved analogue to digital convertor over the original. Yours is the original version, that is still quite a good mic however.

It's this mic here.

Currently those speakers are:

Total Power 250 Watts, Dolby Digital (AC-3)
Surround Sound Equal Power Output
50 watts L/R front.

May upgrade these later but not for now

Do you have picture of the back of the speakers? Some have unusual connection ie RCA plus speaker cable.

ignore those numbers

What are AC-3 speakers?

I remember linking to the Fosi Audio K7 a few months ago when they first announced it. Feels like it could be a killer product and what I was wishing for a while ago for one of these Chinese companies (Fiio, Fosi, S.M.S.L. etc.) to have a go at a basic stereo + mic input + high quality components DAC/AMP. And these guys did it I think.

Just sucks it's being sold on Kickstarter only and isn't on Amazon like their other stuff. Would prefer proper retailer for support and refunds than crowd sourcing. But hopefully in time this comes to normal retailers.
