Tabletop Warhammer?

Well it happened.

Just saw this, great brushes and H&S are brilliant for spares/interoperability with things like needles/nozzles and cups normally.

I'd suggest if you don't have one looking at a small "jewlers loop" type magnifier, preferably with a built in light as they're cheap and they can save a lot of squinting if you're trying to see if there is a bit of dried paint in the nozzle etc.
Also i'm not sure if the cleaning set comes with anything to rest the needle on whilst it's out of the brush (I don't think i've ever seen something for sale), but I use a bit of foam a little shorter than the needle with a V groove, it lets you put the needle somewhere it is both obvious and won't roll away whilst you're working on the brush (if you've got a 3d printer you could probably print something to do a similar job). I may have started doing that when I couldn't see the needle after I went to get a cuppa whilst the nozzle was soaking;)

models dunked in APA again. Had paint rub again. Got them primed this time with Citadel MSG Not sure on the issue but probably should have rattle canned sprayed them after striping them the first time.

Went to the Warhammer store (where's games workshop gone?) out of a bit of nostalgia and playing some video games recently to do with Warhammer.
Used to be into the hobby back in the 90's when I was a teenager. Now I'm almost 40, I'm kinda looking into it again as there does seem to be a few adults getting into as I was walking around the store.
Questions:
1. They don't play games in the actual stores anymore lol. Well where can I play as that's the main reason for me.
2. I spoke to the employee in the store told him I don't want the starter sets as I know the faction I want to play as, but they don't have a codex book for them only these Index cards wtf?
3. Is the hobby doing okay, I don't want to fork out a lot of money try and get into the hobby and see that's not very popular

Thats unusual, what store is it?

1) My local stores all allow games in store.
2) Theres a few armies missing a 10th codex right now but most have them. Which army are you thinking of?
3) Yes, its bigger than ever.

1) they had a first timer game table where I guess they let you play with one of the employees to get you hooked.
2) Grey knights

Maybe worht going a bit further feild to a larger store.

And year, grey knights are yet to be released this edition, they are also an old army model wise, theyre due a range refresh.

So I could buy a 1000pt grey army now and be worthless in a couple months when the refresh comes out for example?

You can still use the models The grey knights range is I think one of the oldest still for sale atm.

Ive been waiting for their refresh before hopping into them. But as to when thats going to happen, could be months or years away, but if you want to get back in, dont let that stop you tbh.

Finally made the plunge and got the same compressor and airbrush as Kindai - immitation and all that... :)

Quick question - Ive got the thinner, cleaner, some steel mixing dishes, some pipettes etc. How important is a spray booth? I would need to reorganise my painting area to accomodate one, but happy to do so if its viewed as essential. Thoughts would be much appreciated from those who airbrush.

A spray booth achieves two things; overspray protection and ventilation.

Even with a booth, I would always wear a mask when airbrushing, but the ventilation feature of the booth helps with the worst of it.

If you don't use a booth, you just need to be really careful about what's behind where you're spraying, and your angles.

Frankly, they're not that expensive, easy to pack up, and help keep your airbrushing area tidy and free from accidentally getting painted! I'd recommend one.

I use one of the £100 spray booths from Amazon, I just attach the extract hose to the rear and put it out of a window, it really is a game changer especially in the winter time not having to worry about the temperature outside for priming etc.

When mine is not in use I just fold the spray booth up and keep it under a worksurface.

Anyone use colour forge spray primers? I’ve got a lot of models coming up with a lot of skin once I work my way through the BT’s and thinking about getting the peachy peach primer. Also thinking about getting the new GW spray stick that rotates lol haven’t been getting on with Airbrush primers lately.
Been building gitz the past few days and every single model is a 10/10 banger

The weird little dudes you find included just makes it even better
AOS is so much cooler.
