Just got a shipping notification from OC and DPD are expecting the parcel shortly.
Won’t believe it and cancel my order at the barcode place until it’s in my hands.
Still don’t understand how OC has managed to get a very substantial amount of Zotac cards and my queue position is still 253 for a non OC Solid.

The non OC cards which are normally cheaper are always last to be serviced or will get very little stock with most going to OC models where they can earn a bit more for essentially having a different bios flashed to it The reason OCUK have a load of cards to sell now is because they didn't take many preorders at launch where as the other place left the flood gates open so orders just went mad .

I regret ordering with the barcode place now.
I think I would have gotten a 5090 much earlier if I ordered from OC.
These updates are so much clearer.

Next time at the 6000 series launch i will be grabbing a 6090 from overclockers. The barcode place is a joke for getting stock. I'm super impressed with the quantity overclockers have been getting plus gibbo announcing drops on here before they go up.

I think as more people cancel their pre orders, they’ll realise they’ve screwed up.

They seem to have put more effort into their page of transparency then they have acquiring stock.

I'm against pre-ordering. You never know how good each AIB card is until you see reviews and people get their hands on them, which is in the days and weeks after launch. I suppose the only exception is if you buy the high-end cards each time and don't mind paying a 30-40% premium.

Prediction: the 6090 launch will be just as bad, or maybe even worse, if the performance uplift is 40+%.

The FE seems to be a bit small for the heat that is being pumped out, I am glad I got an Astral as the mem temps aren't crazy. I see 80-90 on reviews of the FE AIB cards seem to be better due to the size of the heat dissipation. The solid OC seems to be nice and big, so hopefully is good for cooling too.

5090FE handles the heat really well despite it's size, I'm really impressed with mine. I had a 4090 Strix previously and the FE is not much louder, it's a very consistent and unobtrusive frequency/noise profile. Much more pleasant to live with compared to last founders edition card I had (3090FE).

I'm very glad to have not paid a penny over MSRP for my 5090 - the prices retailers are demanding really put me off. If it meant getting a card guaranteed day 1, I'd perhaps pay over MSRP. But months after, when 6090 on improved process node gets closer each day? Nah.

We have shipped majority of the MSI 5090 Suprim SOC back orders today.
We now only have 4 MSI 5090 Suprim SOC back orders left to ship.

I can also confirm we now no longer have any remaining back orders on any other 5090, we have cleared everything, so expect to see 5090's going in and out of stock even more regular on the webshop.

Well, paying £2600 over two years is around £25 a week…

Your losing a week of ownership for each week you wait… so in that sense waiting decreases the ‘period of ownership value’.

I think… £50 a week. Better to pay £200 to get it a ~month earlier.

I’m going to apply this from tomorrow… let’s see how those ETAs hold up…

Yeah they're mugs. It's obvious why they aren't getting stock: they aren't taking stock at higher prices which is fine but they should give customers the option to pay a bit more if they're fed up of waiting. Won't bother with them for a GPU launch again after a pathetic experience with them for me personally.

Ordered, queue position 16. Two months later queue position 12. Speak to them on live chat and the general jist of it was 'no idea brev'. If they have no idea when I am position 12 god help the probably hundreds of people above me. Open auction site, someone selling a new unopened Aorus Xtreme Waterforce 5090 in the next town down from me. Purchase. Collect two hours later £3.1k poorer and now I can not give a monkeys for 2 more years or so.

I know my experience is completely not unique at all and many others are in the same place but this launch absolutely reeks.

Question now is, how much over each card’s respective MSRP will they be? For example, the Aorus Master 5090 should be around £2,500 i believe. But when it has been in stock over the past few weeks it’s been £2700-3000.

For what it’s worth I spoke to queue place today and they said ‘they looked into ETA of Friday and it’s expected, not just a placeholder, but can’t guarantee until it’s landed’ - if @gotenson5 waited an extra 2 weeks then I suppose I’m up for the same.

Based on my (own) reasoning above, £200 is a target for a month’s earlier ownership.

If supply is good / reasonable, you should be able to make a game whether an inflated price is acceptable. Supply isn’t going to ‘slow down’ IMO for another 12 months.

I may have just been at the right place at the right time. I logged onto my PC this morning and checked the notification site, and it had what I thought was a stale notification from earlier/yesterday that I was going to dismiss. I read the notification and saw that it was for a MSI GeForce RTX 5080 16G SHADOW 3X OC at MSRP of £979. I hadn't heard of that model, so I clicked the link and it said in stock. I purchased it, had confirmation and now it says dispatched, arriving tomorrow! I'll just have to check the ROPs when it arrives.

There is a really good honest review on that website from another buyer. It’s basically a low end model, nothing fancy, minimal overclocking headroom, SFF ready and it’s supposed to be priced near MSRP.
