At what point do you say GPU's are too expensive and refuse to buy?

When you are a company being fed scraps and suddenly you are able to finally get some proper revenue from people that have more monies than sense - wouldn't you? It's only logical really. The cure for that is much higher availability of chips, which would kill scalping from all sides. But Nvidia isn't interested in that, apparently.
By any chance do you have any financial interest i.e stock with any of the aforementioned companies Zotac etc.. or even Nvidia.

What is this, an approach of "I don't have an argument against it so I'll attack the person"? :)
Answer the question at least.

To answer this, it's strange for a person to defend a company and their reasoning unless they are a blind fan or have an interest in said industry/company financially.

Nobody defend the company, you need to start using logic (and reading with understanding) instead of knee-jerk emotional reactions. If you would, you would've noticed I also stated what would fix it (ergo, it's a problem) and why it's not going to be fixed anytime soon.
By the way, Zotac isn't publicly traded nor most of AIBs are. Most of them are relatively small companies.

So do you have any financial interest such as stocks in Nvidia then.

I have zero investment in either AMD/Nvidia/Intel etc, but I can definitely believe Nvidia are charging AIB's a lot for the chips to the extent it is making it very difficult for them to hit MSRP.

It's widely known Nvidia have large margins and don't tend to budge on price. It was one of the reasons EVGA stopped making Nvidia cards.

Big margins have proven to be a major boon for stock prices so expect even more price gouging across the board.

I do not but also irrelevant (you're still not reading with understanding) and not your business. :) But to be a bit more clear - AIB do what is called capitalism, with supply and demand pushing prices up. It's not good for the consumer but it also works only because supply is so small from Nvidia they can do whatever and there's enough people to still pay these silly prices. To fix it all Nvidia needs to improve supply a lot. They don't seem to be interested in doing that - it would eat into their production capacity for the enterprise where real revenue is. Consumers made Nvidia a near monopoly in gaming GPUs - you can't blame AIB for that.

I find that companies charging many hundreds more for a bigger heatsink/fan or whatever is pretty hilarious.

Imagine they were sold as separate items. You reckon someone with a FE would pay £1400 to buy a fancier fan? It's crazy.

Heatsinks costs just few USD. Most fancy ones are like 10usd difference (often less) in price, comparing to standard ones, last I've seen BOM of graphics cards. But they look more expensive so adding 20% to the cards' price - why not.

My GPU prices are going down!
Titan x - £860
1080ti - £820
9070xt - £620

Talking of which I bought some ovaltine, it's tasteless, the malt flavour is gone :(
