OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

Looking to upgrade my 6700XT in the near future ,what model/make 9700XT is considered the best to get?
(Not ASUS ,as i refuse to pay the Asus tax) :)

So i noticed the 5070 non ti never really sold through and as such have stock at or near msrp. Admittedly a part of that is it wasn't terribly tempting even at msrp, but hopefully it's an indicator that once stock settles down over the next few weeks and months the prices should trend towards msrp

I'd go Sapphire nitro + if you can get one at a decent price. You also have the benefit of invisible cabling on that one and a metal shell. All the sapphires will have quiet coolers - my Pure is, can't hear it.

Just ordered a Sapphire Nitro plus RX 9070 XT.

Not due until next month!!!

But...birthday present to myself!

I did want the Asrock Taichi RX 9070 XT, but it is never in-stock. The Nitro seems pretty decent. Plus the build quality appears to be good from Sapphire, after briefly owning a Sapphire 7900XT.

I also like AMD GUI for their drivers. After using Nvidia for 21 years! Nvidia driver menu looks the same after 20 plus years! I know they will replace fully with the app at some point...

We have those arriving next week. :)

@Gibbo any indication of when you'll have more XT's in? I wanted a Pulse as the bulkier ones won't fit my case.

We have another large delivery of Sapphire Pulse, Pure and Nitro XT's arriving next week. :)

If all goes to plan we are also expecting Powercolor Reaper and the other models including new white cards end of next week.

All Asrock models should be back in stock in volume middle of April. :)

Hi Gibbo. Any of them rebated msrp models? Ie £569.99? Thanks

Went for the nitro+ myself on Tuesday.

Guessing mine will probably be one of those arriving next week given mine hasn’t shipped yet (seems paying for next day was a dumb move in retrospect)

It's a 600w rated plug with 350w running through it. It's perfectly fine.
Yeah its perfectly fine. 12vhpwr connector is actually brilliant on NITRO+ its so fool proof with its two-tone colour.

I do find it funny how all the AMD hardcore fans suddenly don't mind the 12vhpwr.

I think its the future standard, going forward really. AMD and Nvidia alike

With the Nitro+ for £684 from another vendor, I'm wondering with OCUK and others prcing them at £719+, is it just the tax dodging and unscrupulous staff practices that allow them to price it £35 lower or are they getting a better buy in price?

*Being delivered late April/early May

That's a big stipulation to address, the card has only been out for 3 weeks and we're talking another 4-6 weeks for these to even be in hand.

So they're not factoring in a price drop for later shipments but just using buying clout or dubious practices to offer them at a lower price then?
I wasn't keen on a Nitro+ at launch due to the unknown factor of the power supply and performance. Now that it's shown to be a decent card, and with Gibbo stating that prices here aren't going to come down in the near future I might be tempted.

They are less susceptible to margin requirement as they have such a huge portfolio of products, so making 2-3% on £570 (ex VAT) can be enough to make it worth while, as you'll likely buy more in future as you attribute value and the brand together, so next time you want a book, a bag of coffee, some batteries or a model of the titanic you'll look there as well, and they make more money.

Also, given selling GPU's is just box shifting and there is zero added value to be had regardless of the source, then it is a tough game to be in unless you have a good reputation and loyal following who will pay over the odds for you to shift that box vs. some other faceless corp.
