NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Especially when there is a 99% chance you don’t buy it anyway due to the price. Or maybe that’s just me… :D
Honestly there have been a few moments where I've seen a card available and almost pulled the trigger, but the prices always pull me back.

I think I can justify it on one of the Zotac cards, but anything more than that just feels rough.

Agreed. I very nearly bought the Zotac Solid for £2300, but that's still 22% over the FE's MSRP, and i've not seen many details on the Zotac Solid. Ideally, i'd have comprehensive details of its thermal performance before pulling the trigger.

I can only speak for my experience, but with the 0.950v undervolt I've got it running at 68c under load. My system is running on an Asus x870-E Gaming Motherboard with 9800X3D and a Noctua cooler

And I do see your point about paying more for the solid, but for some extra context: I had been waiting nearly two months for a Gigabyte 5090 Gaming OC, and nothing had happened, not even a rough estimate of ETA. It was exactly the same price as I've paid for my Zotac on OCUK. So thanks to Overclockers I'm a happy girl playing games maxed out at 4k and loving it. Also, the Haribo's are always welcome

I was (foolishly) waiting to try grab one of the Gigabyte waterblock cards until accepting defeat. If I'm able to grab a Zotac card I'll strip it and whack one of the new Alphacool blocks on and let it ride.

It has been a good 7ish years since I was remotely up to date on hardware knowledge. If it wasn't for the fact that my current rig essentially ate itself over the last few months, I would be happily waiting until things 'normalised'. It is what it is.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Do you know how much power was being used to hit 68c? If it's 4XXw, then it's not particularly impressive. Although it's one of the smaller 5090s, so not a surprise. Similarly, do you know what the memory temps have been like?

This has to be the best value for money out of all the 50xx release?
Depends how you see it, but it's a +37% premium vs a widely available 5070 ti at a major competitor, for +14% frames. Only comparing OCUK, it's a +25% premium against the 5070 ti, again for +14%ish frames.
