OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

When you’ve got a grumpy temperamental 2070super and you’ve been putting off upgrading for too long, sometimes it’s better to just bite the bullet.

Or at least that’s what I tell myself to stomach the premium
Here's a solution to avoid the problem.

Whisper quietly in the 2070's ear and say that you'll refrain from replacing it, and thus, it will immediately start behaving better. :D

Oh trust me, it’s been told. It’s gonna get repasted/padded and reused though.

Anyone got a good idiots guide on things to do upon switching to Radeon?

Download AMD Drivers ready.
Uninstall Nvidia drivers, shut down.
Swap cards over and boot up
Install AMD drivers.
Profit??!?

(Zero need for DDU these days)
I agree and disagree on the DDU comment. Disagree because my last swap of GPU had a lot of issues until I used DDU and re-installed the drivers. It also simplifies things sometimes. Agree because you only need it when you have a problem.

Clearing the steam shader cache is also a worthwhile step.

I've been rather unlucky then, DDU has been mandatory for me for years. I've had to DDU going from AMD iGPU to RX 7600, from 4070ti to 4090, from 5080 to 5090. Even switching BIOS gave Windows a wobble one time

If in doubt, DDU

@Gibbo being offered a refund on my faulty msrp launch card despite being assured by powercolor they were going to assist with sourcing a replacement. This would obviously leave me paying a lot more at this point. Have to say I'm disappointed.

Kind of reads like they want to get the replacement from powercolor and sell it at the new prices.

:(

Just say you don’t want a refund and happy to wait for replacement.

Guessing it’s a reaper we have more stock due in a few days it can be replaced with one of those.

Any issues point returns guy to my post here. :)

Thanks Gibbo, under normal circumstances would be a totally reasonable suggestion and is probably a default offer. Just was concerning!

I've replied and linked as you suggested.

Got my Sapphire Pure today - amazing delivery time OCUK/DPD was spot on time. Their notification app was nice to keep me up-to-date during the journey.
Time to install my new PSU and retire my beloved RTX 2070.

I will try to install the drivers without DDU first and post my experience later.

May I ask what is wrong with these Reapers what the fault is? Just concerned if a few are coming back as to why as I need to feedback to Powercolor if there is a potential issue.

Yes @Cosimo got it, a really annoying bearing sound, more noticable on mine at low speeds. I believe they are aware as I started by talking to them directly and I believe they asked OCUK to just go ahead and accept the RMA.
