Hello again,

I hope all is well. I am happy with this motherboard, successfully updated at my first build time to bios version 3.16.
I see a later version, 3.20. Is it worth updating to this?

Good evening,

I have a 9700X, a non x3d CPU. But should I update for security reasons?

I forgot to mention, the chipset drivers were updated to the latest.

It's wise to update the bios there are a lot of fixesand security patches , so yes I would.

Others would say leave it be in the end it's your choice.

Updated today, RAM went to 5600 MHz, then went into settings and set it manually to 6000 MHz. Rebooted into Windows 11 fine. Checked setting in BIOS and memory is still at 6000 MHz.

Thanks a lot.
Are you setting RAM manually to 6000 without using XMP/EXPO? This may not be fully stable, depending on the sticks and the timings.

Manually, but where in the BIOS?
These are my RAM sticks: Crucial Pro DDR5 RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36 AMD EXPO DDR5 32GB RAM, CP2K16G60C36U5B

To enable EXPO (AMD's version of XMP) on your ASRock X870E Taichi Lite motherboard, enter the BIOS, navigate to the memory settings (often under "OC Tweaker" or similar), and select the EXPO profile you want to use (EXPO 1 or EXPO 2).
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
1. Accessing the BIOS:

Restart your computer and press the designated key (usually Del or F2) repeatedly during startup to enter the BIOS.

2. Navigating to Memory Settings:

Once in the BIOS, navigate to the memory-related settings section.
Look for sections like "OC Tweaker", "Advanced Memory Settings", or similar.
Some ASRock motherboards might have an "Easy Mode" and an "Advanced Mode". If in easy mode, you might need to switch to advanced mode to see all the settings.
You can usually switch between "Easy Mode" and "Advanced Mode" by pressing F6.

3. Selecting the EXPO Profile:

Look for options related to "EXPO Profile" or "XMP Profile".
Select the EXPO profile you want to use (EXPO 1 or EXPO 2).
Some ASRock motherboards might have an option to enable or disable the EXPO profile.

4. Saving and Exiting:

Save the changes and exit the BIOS.
Press F10 to save and exit, or use the appropriate key combination.

Additional Tips:

Check your RAM:
Ensure your RAM is compatible with EXPO and the X870E Taichi Lite motherboard.

Refer to your motherboard manual:
Consult your motherboard manual for specific instructions and troubleshooting tips.
Consider memory training:
After enabling EXPO, your system might perform memory training, which can take a few minutes.
Monitor voltages:
Keep an eye on your RAM voltages after enabling EXPO.
AMD EXPO vs. Intel XMP:
EXPO is AMD's version of Intel's XMP, and it's designed for DDR5 memory on AMD platforms.

on ddr5 u really want expo and not xmp on amd systems.

Expo 1 or EXPO 2?
