*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

The appeal isn't there for me on HD remakes/remasters. I realize that isn't really feasible for most people, though.

It’s a fair point but the HD remake came out on the Wii U and was really an excellent game and still looks fantastic to this day on modern TV’s. Just wish they would do a proper port for it! It truly deserves it.

I have to admit I've never been a big Zelda fan but then I never had a SNES or N64 growing up and probably missed out on really getting sucked in.
I do have both main Switch Zelda titles although partly because there wasn't much else out originally! and I felt I had to buy the second one but not played it much - will probably wait and play the improved Switch 2 versions now.

I have started playing Ocarina of Time on NSO though and enjoying that so will see how many other older ones I play!

I think most people in this thread that wanted to pre-order have done so even if Nintendo does push back the UK official pre-order date. Is there anyone in here holding out for the NSO invite?

Wind Waker being part of the NSO GC hadn't really occurred to me when I had been hoping for a re-release of Wind Waker HD but it would seem extremely unlikely if Wind Waker is already available

So is wind waker coming to switch 2 via GC emulator but not the HD version?

New faint hope unlocked - some sort of remaster collection of Ocarina (the 3DS version, Majora too, why not), Wind Waker (WiiU version) and Twilight Princess (not sure this had a remake yet?) :p

The Switch not receiving that long rumoured double-pack of the Wii U Zelda remasters was a bit disappointing. I think WW HD & Twilight Princess HD are amongst some of the last Nintendo first party games stuck on Wii U. I'm sure they'll emerge in a Switch 2 remaster at some point. Just makes too much sense not too, particularly if they were ready to go as some of the rumours made out.

For me I was holding out for Amazon, or Nintendo UK store. Just a preference thing really. If neither comes through I'll wait.

I would love to play through the wind waker in hd+, I had it on gamecube but can't really remember it, think the aesthetic would hold up great today.
Can't be bothered with the direction zelda is heading in these days so the old ones are all there is for me now.
The HD remaster was very well done on the Wii U. Even just a straight port of that version would be more than enough to satisfy the nostalgia of most longstanding fans.

I've seen emails from Nintendo UK/Europe customer support confirming that the first phase of pre-order invitations is complete - they all went out on 2 April. The next phase of invitations won't occur until after the 8 April ie. if they still have surplus stock or initial invitees haven't taken up the offer.

are they actually on the cart though ? I read an interesting article where a lot of the games will come on this digital card that you insert and then the game downloads. It's not just limited to large game files either as the bravely default remaster is less than 15gb and that is going to be on one of these digital cards that you insert, download and then need the card inserted when you want to play. Its just another version of code in a box which is bad news for physsical collectors and game preservation in the future

Nothing official has been said yet, but it appears that game carts that only contain a digital key will explicitly state that on the packaging. I suspect most 1st party titles will have all the game files on the cart.

It’s only the US impacted due to the tariffs. There’s no reason the UK or the rest of the world would be impacted as they don’t have the tariffs.

Not to dissagree because you're correct. But we don't know there won't be an impact yet. Maybe not for launch, but more stock for other regions, it Nintendo raising the prices in other regions to subsidise the US market are all possible. Who knows. But Nintendo sold nearly 40% of all Switch units in USA.

Twilight Princess got a HD remaster on the Wii U. It's a very good remaster and ut came bundled with the Wolf Link Amiibo I have it in my collection.
