The only interesting thing to me is updated games + old games getting consistent performance. Nothing new interests me right now aside from Prime 4.

An in-store pre-order at Currys is the only 'open' option right now as both Amazon and Nintendo are invite only (although with the former you can request an invitation).
I can only presume that Nintendo, Amazon and The Game Collection will open pre-orders to anyone on the 8th, but possibly with very limited stock?

The issue with the 3DS is like the Wii U, people didn't really see the need to buy it at launch given most new games also worked with the regular DS. It was only much later where they stopped making DS titles.
What matters when it crosses the boarder. If it isn't hasn't cleared customs before the tariffs take effect, its hit.
I expect these are in a warehouse in the country of manufacture at the moment and will not be shipped until closer to the launch. Why? Cheaper to store them in Vietnam than America, its that simple. They'll no doubt be shipping via sea also rather than air which is much slower.
GameCube will be exclusive to Switch 2. Mario Kart is great launch game and there’s a few others confirmed for launch. I don’t know if I will jump into Donkey Kong but BOTW and TOTK Switch 2 versions+Mario Kart is going to keep me busy. I’ll grab Hades 2 when that comes out soon (that’s a Switch 2 exclusive for consoles).

I'm looking forward to seeing nintendo games in hdr, their games are crying out for it. For me it might be the best upgrade.
I bought one in store on launch day.
You may well have done but there were not any left at retails stores after the initial launch and it took quite a few weeks to come back into stock, that was a normal launch back then. e.g. weeks not many months like the PS5.
There was certainly no price drop which was the crux of the response. The price drop didn't come on the 'full' switch until the OLED version launched. The lite isn't really a price drop.

There is an article on the BBC about the price of Switch 2 games and how other studios are likely to increase their prices too.
It also mentions about Nintendo reducing the price of consoles in the past when they weren't received well.

This won't be price dropping because it's been racking up the preorders regardless - this won't be like the N64 where it flopped in week one and they had to react.
We're in a world where people happily pay £2000 for a graphics card to get a few more frames than an equally stupid £1000 card - as much as it's too much for me to impulse buy just due to FOMO at £400, eventually I'll have no choice but to stump up when some games I want to play appear.
Or even just the QoL changes with sailing.
