Hey everyone, looking for some help putting together a brand new system for gaming please!

I’ve not built one for years so I’m stuck on where to start however I’ve seen quite a lot of good reviews on the Ryzen 7 7800X3D so maybe something based around this? Although I am fully open to all suggestions!

Hoping to play the latest AAA games at 1440p and would like to stick to a budget of around £1,500/1,600 if this is possible but can flex up a little if it makes sense to do so!

No need for any other items like keyboards or monitors.

Would something like this work well?
  • AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core Processor
  • ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 360 A-RGB 48.82 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
  • MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard
  • G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
  • Crucial T500 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
  • Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC GeForce RTX 4070 12 GB Video Card
  • Montech XR ATX Mid Tower Case
  • Corsair RM850e (2023) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You can't post link to competitors so would kindly advise you remove it.

List the parts instead.

Not really, this is borderline for AAA @ 1440p already and would have limited lifespan.

I thought you wanted a 7800x3d pc build you've listed AM4
Yeah I’m a complete dummy and copied an old list

Looks fine apart from the arctic freezer 360mm mite not fit in the top of that case you need to check clearance.

The arctic freezer radiator is 38mm compared to the standard 27mm in most aio coolers.

Did you consider the 9800x3d ?

Have you looked at the 9700 v 4070 ?

Thanks for the reply, I’ll check the cooler!

I haven’t considered the 9800x3d or the 9700 - I am really out of touch with components so I am fully open to suggestions.

Would these fit within the budget and would the performance v cost be worth it?

To be clear, are you looking at prebuilt PCs here, or are you building yourself? If you're building yourself, you have more room to flex the budget by cutting costs on e.g. the case or the cooler.
Sorry if it wasn’t clear but it’ll be a self build :)
