Yeah I've lost more than that, and that's just vhvg.A friend has lost 50k, and he was quite conservative too.

Yeah, thread in signature.Hopefully this is a generational opportunity for some people!
I have a fairly decent sized ISA (100% cash) that I'm looking to deploy into a world tracker and some tech stocks. May DCA 20% at current levels then continue to DCA every 5% drop.
Looking to FIRE before 40 (if all things go to plan). But that may have to increase!
Anyone here looking to FIRE?
Nice one thank you!Yeah, thread in signature.
Defo a setback of a few years as things stand.
wish i could but i'll be lucky to retire before 60Anyone here looking to FIRE?
Set a time limit to DCA in e.g 12 months rather than on every 5% drop. You never know when the drops will turn into gains.Hopefully this is a generational opportunity for some people!

Use this as an opportunity to accumulate stocks at low prices! Although easier said than done.wish i could but i'll be lucky to retire before 60
Yeah true, my investment horizon is hopefully long enough to see positive gains. So I guess I have to decide to accumulate based on time or price.Set a time limit to DCA in e.g 12 months rather than on every 5% drop. You never know when the drops will turn into gains.
If true, suggests WORSE was priced in already, otherwise the markets would not have turned from negative to positive on the announcement.Priced in already
The reality of the tariffs (provided they don't get rolled back/deals made) hasn't even started. It's going to be mental.
I wonder how many companies are going to end up just removing entire lines from sale in the US because it's better than trying to get sales with the stupid tariffs ?
No not normally, it's where the item was produced/grown.ive been meaning to ask, but cant companys just route trade through other conttries?
i.e.
China sends its stock to UK were its then forwared to the US as a UK trade
i'll add we have prducsts that are assemebled / made in UK but all the parts are from China as example. No not normally, it's where the item was produced/grown.

I wonder what's Trumps response to China going to be, I read Russia said something in the lines of Trump disturbing world trade etc...
Russia said Wednesday that US President Donald Trump's imposition of sweeping tariffs showed his disregard for the foundations of international trade.
Every cloud..Russia are getting absolutely messed up by it, but indirectly.
1/3rd of their economy is reliant on oil exports and their 2025 budget was based on oil being $70 a barrel. It's now $50 per barrel.
