Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Is it worth putting anything on vanguard s&p 500 (acc)? On trading212 app?

Have people recently purchased anything ? If so what did you buy and how much ,
I put 2.5k on Friday and another 5k on Monday... but what do i know... I lost the value of a BMW SUV in the last month....

seriously makes you wonder. is he doing all this on purpose to kill the market then in the background buy a shed load of cheap stock. Either that or the guy just hasn't got a clue.

If you want some genuine advice, open a free paper account and trade there. These mirror the actual stock markets and let you play with a fictitious amount of money so you can get the feel for it. Make no mistake though, no matter what anyone tells you, playing with fake funds and actual money is a very different proposition. You won't stress with a fake account if you lose it all, the stress with real money is also very real as witnessed by some of the folks in this thread.

Also, if you have a solid head and don't have a habit of chasing losses, then stick £100 in a T212 account (or whatever you can afford to lose) and play with that. You can even play with a tenner if you want.

Keep in mind that people will always post their wins, and never their losses. You'll also never get the whole picture, you'll see people in this thread going "I have £500k in xyz" but what they're not telling you is that it's their pension, not actual funds that they're playing with.

By all means have a play, but do it on your own, do your own research and learn from your own experience. By all means ask for advice in what to look for, what triggers, etc, but asking what to invest in will only end in tears.

As for the SMP...

The S&P 500 is the Standard & Poor 500 which is the top 500 stocks on the US stock exchange by market cap, ie. the safest and least volatile stocks.

This is definitely what's happening.

He even ****** tweeted/truthed/Xd or whatever the **** you call it, telling people to start buying before it was announced.

He is literally a convicted fraudsters with a hugely colourful history of shady goings on with his businesses. It's quite obvious he's doing this for his and his pals own gain.

A decent amount of his last administration/campaign staff and his own lawyer ended up being convicted of fraud related/financial crimes.

The USA is literally run by criminal, so this behaviour is to be expected.

A reminder to the world of how 'powerful' America is?

not up on business law but itsn't manipulating the stock market illegal?

or is the fact he's the president it makes him untouchable?

I watched a YouTube video earlier some expert saying focus on buying the market rather than individual companies which I assume means S&P ?

S&P is one of the US stock market indexes so yes if you are looking at the what is considered the highest growth. Otherwise you might wish to consider even broader an All-World or Developed World index.

Do you think he's the only one that's done it? Our Ex-PM got rich-er by the banking crisis...

So smp500..
do you have a strategy? or a goal

Honestly mate, you need to stop this. Nobody here has the answers, this is pure 100% gambling at this point. Nobody in this thread has the answers and anyone who says they do is lying. Please do yourself a favour and go read up on the stock markets and stop asking people on forums what to do, if someone tells you what to do and it goes wrong you'll be in a world of pain. Nobody here has a clue right now.

im certainly no expert, as people can tell by most silly posted questions.
and its certainly great your interested in stocks and shares.
your in at a really good time and theres lots of oppatunity, but those oppatunities arent going away quickly.

yahoo finance has been suggested as a good source of info in past to me.

im going to give it to you a differant way,
"Go and invest 20k in AMC entertainment" (dont actually do this)
the next day the AMC stocks plumet from its current 2.85 price down to 0.5 and theres talks of bankruptsy
what do you do? how do you feel? who do you blame?
