NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

I do hope so, I'll patiently wait 12 hours at work tomorrow twiddling my thumbs haha! Unfortunately my wait still isn't over, the real wait is Lian Li unless I change my fan choice which I don't really wanna do
It's going to be a difficult wait just for those fans. I've currently got a build that is almost identical to your planned build but with the wired Lian Li TL LCD fans. Might be an option you may want to consider if the wait is ridiculously long. Happy to help you visualise by putting up a few photos if that'll help you.

When are more ASUS cards due in please?

Another questions is whether the ASUS or msi Suprim is better please
If you are referring to the Astral, both are top choices. You should be fine with any of the two. I found the Astral 5090 a bit too noisy. I don't have hands on experience with the Suprim but that should change soon.

5090FE rarely gets to 65c whilst using the undervolt and gets a performance boost at the same time
Most of the negative comments you see towards the FE are from people who spent more for an AIB and want to justify it to themselves
I have no bad will towards a fe. It's objectively the best value for money card. But if you value accousitics like I do and perhaps style/rgb there are better (but more expensive options).

Personally I'd of rather a 5090fe more in line with the 4090fe. I don't think chasing the small form factor crowd was worth the sacrifices. The 4090fe was a chunk but many small cases were made around it's dimensions.

Can't go wrong with any tbh, as long as the price is right for the model in question.

That'd actually be very helpful! The fans were suppose to be March, so got in touch with them and theyre saying by the end of Q2. Gonna rack their brain again because I'm not waiting another 2 month to put it together.

That's very fair, but without an undervolt, it is a hot baby. Especially on memory temps.

Anyway, it's completely irrelevant this generation given the trajectory is one small restock every month (2 since launch so far).

What sacrifices?
I wouldn't count 5c warmer in some games and possibly 1db louder to be notable sacrifices

Don't get me wrong, I really liked my 4090FE, but the form factor of the 5090FE is so much better. It's worth mentioning that even though it's not as chunky as the 4090FE, it's still a large card. It's still a good chunk bigger than the 3080FE for example and still has quite a bit of weight. People say it's small, but that's only when compared to other 5090 and 4090s. Stick it next to most other cards, including high end cards just 2 generations back, and it looks huge.

I don't think people really complained about the heat of the card itself though? I think many of the concerns were on the fact it can pump out hot air onto your CPU. Not a concern with any kind of water cooling, but potentially an issue with an air cooler. It was why I was slightly concerned.

That all said it wasn't enough of a concern to stop me attempting to get a 5090 FE. It was my first choice on launch day since it's easily the best value for money(even more so now with the price drop), spent most of the afternoon trying to get it, but failed, and then pre-ordered an AIB instead at that point.

Hey,

Anyone else place a successfully order yesterday and not had a dispatch email?

Ordered a 5080 around 2:30

It's 10db louder than the 4090fe. (40 vs 30). My Suprim is 28db max, so that's 12db quieter (source Tech Power Up). Also fes this gen have the most coil whine, probably due to cramming everything on such a small die/been more open and exposed. Plus I'd rather have a larger heat sink to help with heat. The memory can get up to 95c as it's not cooled very well. More personally I don't like the angled connector either.

Like I say though the massive saving might well be worth it for many people or the fact it is small form factor. Been a fe it will hold its value well.
