The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

My current highest score, using my stable settings, is 7851 but I don't think that represents its true performance as the UV was -95mV, 2760 vram and +10% PL. So something is holding the score back slightly, I suspect cooling as I had GPU fan at 50% and case cooling was running silent at around 700 rpm. I don't think I'll get 8000 but I should get into the 7900s.
Going to fix my CPU frequency too as I've noticed it jumps around in Steel Nomad.

For me cost of the upgrade was paramount as my pulse cost me significantly less than msrp brand new from elsewhere and the nitro would have been a bit more on top escalating my upgrade cost from a 7800xt (even factoring in resale). It costed me only £183 more than the resale value of my old card to upgrade and that’s good enough for me even though I am about 6-7% away from a Nitro performance once both overclocked.

Just received my XFX Quicksilver 9070XT. Wanted something in White and this was the cheapest option. Haven't put it through it's paces yet though. Upgrading from a 6700XT so hopefully a decent gain in fps at 1440p.

Mine was because I had an XTX and their resale value is more than any 9070 XT. So I just went for the best looking XT, in my opinion, not everyones taste i know.
Definitely not worth it for a value to performance perspective but I wanted the best XT they had. I got it at the £699 OCUK launch price, so not quite as good as other retailers but nothing worth losing sleep over.
If you have any 9070 XT you have a cracking card (Maybe not so much with the Asus models due to the "Asus Tax").
This thing still amazes me and it doesn't heat my room up anywhere near the levels my Red Devil XTX did (450w monster!). The fact it matches or beats an XTX is awesome, especially as it adds FSR 4.
The Pulse seems to be the best base level card.

FSR 4 will be coming to 7900xtx, there is already tools out there to use FSR4 with 7900xt/xtx,

going from a 7900xtx to a 9070xt is a best a side grade, and you dropped 8gb of ram.

Welp, after another 30 minutes tweaking, down to 8th in the world in steel nomad with a 7989 score. I think there are two points in it to jump a few more places.

Edit: maybe I should look at further tuning my RAM.

I do love the Nitro- was tempting when it was on for a similar price to what you paid elsewhere last week- but thought about cost especially as I would lose 1/4 of the value of my old card! Should have gone with my heart!

I’ve enabled optiscaler now in Cyberpunk and it’s amazing to use DLSS again after 5 years or so! @ICDP do I pick transformer or CNN? Also what’s to stop me picking Quality DLSS and then enable AFMF2.1 on Adrenalin to get 100fps? Or is it too much ghosting?

I'm using FSR4 now though and have been for just over a month, I got more for the XTX than the XT cost and im not playing the games i had to use FSR3 with, with all the crap FSR3 had. I was going to change to a 4080 super or 5080 it was that bad. To not use FSR\DLSS id need a 5090 and i cant justify that money.
I had no use for 24gb VRAM and I don't think there are many games that use more than 16gb VRAM. The XTX struggles with 4k native anyway, so 24gb VRAM is wasted on gaming.

It wasn't an upgrade of course, it was a strategic change as I play the games FSR4 is officially supported by now, pocketed cash in the process and haven't got a single game I've lost performance in.

You tube buddy. There is a tool that adds far 4 support to games that don’t yet support it.
The tool also work with 7900xtx l.
Isn't this just FSR version numbering where it still uses Temporal upscaling from 3.1, not the AI model, but the other features that come with FSR 4?
I feel this would be much bigger news if people were using the AI upscaler on the 70 series.

I believe you can only pick DLSS as an option because Optiscaler is tricking the game in to thinking you have a 4090. It’s still FSR 4 being used and only the quality setting in game has any effect.

So it makes no difference which model (CNN vs transformer) as it’s still FSR4 that’s being used?

Really impressed tbh.

I've got huge FOMO. I've not had access to my system for a week and all this talk of tweaking settings is making me want to get on my machine and push the system harder haha.
It makes bugger all difference to games, but it's just fun to see how much you can get out of a card.

Yeah I know it makes sod all difference, I'm sort of hooked now to be honest haha. I was hoping to crack 8000 but I'm unsure if that will happen. I don't have enough knowledge on it all.
I spentg two weeks tuning RAM during covid then gavce up and swapped to B-Die instead lol.
Once I'm at the bleeding edge, I'll back it right off most likely and run it for its intended purpose. I've never cared much for OC'ing to the hilt but after chicking in a few random setatings yesterday evening, I was intrigued by how well it performed.
