I just can't make mine make noise. 95% of the time it's completely silent. 5% it's the faintest sound you ever heard (and in a completely silent system with no white noise in the room).

I tried turning off gsync, and benchmarks last night, nothing. As frustrating as it is I can 100% confirm golden samples exist amongst the premium models.

please can you record your GPU during regular TimeSpy? I’ll be glad if you can

I'll send a video to Nitefly, see if he will upload it for me. Do you want it at stock or with my undervolt applied? (85w less no performance loss).

You can upload vids easily enough on Imgur (desktop). No account log-in required!

Email yourself the video (draft email, then ‘insert photo video’ within email app to ensure you’re sending a compressed vid that won’t bounce) - access it on desktop, upload to Imgur. Simples! :)

Just from my own experience even if I'm not hitting the full 4K 240hz definitely has coil whine in every game for me to varying degrees,

4K 144hz cap has been very quiet in comparison, faintest of whine in some games to none on silent mode on the suprim.

Just a thought - what monitor are you rocking? Are you doing 240hz native with a DP2.1 80gb per sec cable? Or is this using DSC?

I’m running it full native at 80gb/s… so that is probably stressing it out. Just an idea!

Yeah same as me, full native dsc off :) with the 1 metre DP2.1 cable provided with display.

Ah that busts that idea then. In a good way… means there is hope for me :D
Undervolt + overclock helped a lot as well to reduce the frequencies and overall noise of the coil whine that were really annoying me.

but like I said still get it in games that demand the most, just nowhere near as annoying as stock and at 144hz goes away in most titles.

How did you make UV+OC?

I could perfect it further, and keep running benches, but just a close to straight rip from a youtube video :) and it works as intended.

Also fyi for anyone, I needed to update my bios X870 tomahawk had the 5090 running in PCIE 3.0 until a bios update :( now I've got max performance but 4.0 and 5.0 pretty much the same, just as long as you're not in my situation :)

This took a bit of a two person effort! lol.

Here is the requested vid of my Suprim;

OMG OMG OMG.... the Suprim just arrived, I plugged it into my test bench (aka motherboard box while waiting for a bigger case haha).... and GUESS WHAT!.... It doesn't make a sound wtf! Well ok it does, but its literally like 1/10 buzz more than whine, and only when fans are totally silent (10-15%), over 20% you can't hear it.

I made several videos to show this, excuse the mess, hopefully you can see what I mean. Compared to my Astral this is like 2 opposite ends of the spectrum haha! Check this out:

Stock Afterburner settings, just unboxed and plugged straight in, then booted into Heaven (circa 450W load, uncapped FPS):

Still stock settings but now under a 600W load:

Quick and dirty OC, under the same 600W load: +300 core, +3000 mem, +max voltage stock fan curve

Whats interesting is, and I don't know if the phone can pick it up, but the higher the load, the less it buzzes, which is the totally opposite effect of the Astral.

Nice. Can you make a TimeSpy regular benchmark? If there is a coil whine?

Yes there is, and it's a bit louder than the other benchmark (perhaps due to FPS being a lot higher yet still hitting 550W-600W), but I would rate it like 2/10 at most.

And this with the GPU being right next to me on a cardboard box. Overall, not bad at all.

I would like to see a video of your GPU during TimeSpy…
