Hi there

A POLL for fun, you want to play latest games and are upgrading from an RTX 30 series or older or an AMD 6000 series or older and have upto £700 to spend.

Either the 9070 or 9070XT.

The 5070ti at a push if RT is really important to you, I don't see anything else in Nvidia's product stack as worth buying personally unless going balls to the wall with the 5090.

I'm on a 6800XT right now, so probably the 9070 XT. If I was going to upgrade would definitely want it to be latest gen to step up over my current card, and I don't think I could part with these kinds of numbers for a card NVIDIA had placed several rungs below the 5090/5080

The vote is about what is available to buy now, we would all like a 9070 XT for £550-600 but alas it is not possible for regular volume sales.

Guess you need to add NOW, all that tells me people are happy to spend £649-699 on 9070xt

Gibbo, do you expect the 5060ti to sell out today? I'm still umming and ahing whether to get it or the 5070ti

Hard to say, we were hoping for 400 units on hand today, but so many deliveries are delayed so we only have 200, with another 200-300 due today/tomorrow.

I don't forsee a mad rush, so do not rush your decision, stock will flow on these quite well.

Why is 9070xt such a clear vote winner? I'm not disputing it, I'm just out of the loop with hardware at the moment. What is an equivalent Nvidia card? Is it the best bang per buck?

It's about on par with the 5070ti and costs a good deal less, Nvidia has a bunch of issues with their current line up at the moment too (drivers etc).

runs cool, near silent , lots in the tank and rock solid drivers unlike black screenvidia with a good suite of features

I thought traditionally it was AMD that were reknown for having more software and driver issues? Has this swung back the other way over the last few years?
I've got a 3060ti and son has a 3060. I play some stuff at 1440p even on that, but it can struggle I think. 9070xt seems expensive still. I have absolutely no issue buying from either and have owned multiple cards from each over the years.

AMD have resolved pretty much all the weaknesses of RDNA with the 9070 XT, it has better ray tracing, greatly improved upscaling (FSR4) and retains the decent raster performance, while being a good chunk cheaper than a premium model of the 5070 Ti. Mind you, it was a better buy at the price it was supposed to be, £700 ain't so great.

The 5000 series drivers have been bad.

Nothing on that list, why is the 9070 XT £650 to £700 when the MSRP for those cards start at $600? Currently at $1.33 to £1 that's £452 + 20% VAT = £543.
