NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

I've noticed on a fair few games with a 5000 series card that if I set 16xAF in the driver as it does help in some games, Everything gets a weird pink'ish pixelated hue, Could just be the newer drivers over the last few months but it's something I didn't see with the 4000 series.

Has there been any more talk of 24Gb 5080s? I'm in the market for a 5080 now but don't want to buy one only for them to release a 24Gb version straight afterwards!!

Nope, Zero. IF they do then it will be failed 5090's with *around* 15,000 CUDA cores and 24GB memory with pricing likely starting at £1499.

The 5080 wouldn't really benefit much from more memory due to its 256 bit memory bus hence my thought process on a possible 5080 24GB being failed 5090's which have a 512 bit memory bus.

I haven't seen any new rumours for a while. I can't imagine they would release a super refresh before Q1 next year, which will probably be 1 year before the 60 series.

So to frame your concern another way, "I don't want to buy a 5080 24GB, only for them to release a 6080 straight after" :D

Was about to install my 5090 and it only has one 16 slot power connector that has a daisy chain for for 4X pcie cables . I only have three coming from my PSU , it's a 1000W Corsair but is three enough ?

How old is your 1000W PSU?

The Corsair ones sold over the past three or so years should have came with a 2 8pin to 12VHPWR cable which you can use without the adapter that comes with the 5090.

If you didn't get one of those then you might have to check if you can purchase one from Corsair and use it, they have a link to the PSU compatibility further down the page: https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/p/pc-...5-0-12v-2x6-type-4-psu-power-cable-cp-8920284

Thanks for this . It's turned on , downloading drivers as I type .

With the 3 connectors? If they're the 300w connectors from Corsair it might be okay using one into two, but if they're somewhat old cables probably wouldn't personally mess around too much with how dodgy these connectors are, bad connections can cause melting issues still, unfortunately.

Those Corsair 8 pin cables are rated for 300w so it's fine to use the splitter for 2x150w.

What was the GPU Powerdraw roughly during the bench thought. Should be hitting 600w at points...
So im assuming this was the Max draw during the benchamark . 173W - not sure if thats correct but I used the sensor tab on GPU.

Do i need to connect up the 4th PCI E connectopr on the PSU to the 4 into 1 cable ?
