This place is paradise

I am in a small town in France with the family for a few days.

I went to the shop earlier in shorts and short sleeve shirt, all the locals have their coats on etc. It makes me proud to be a filthy welshman.

Also, got blatantly eyed up by some middle-aged French woman, which was nice

Middle aged French women are the best.

Thought i would ride the bike in to work this morning to burn off the eating over the weekend,

I got about 40% in to the ride and had a puncture

they really need to sweep the roads around here

Taking 5 after clearing out one of our overgrown raised beds in the garden.

Gradually cleaning up the pool which is taking longer than advertised due to having the dreaded mustard algae this spring for the first time in the 7 years we’ve been here. Utterly resistant to chlorine and due a second dose of treatment tomorrow.

Why does Google periodically “forget” that I don’t want those ******* trending searches but mysteriously keeps my other settings like dark mode?

One of the many reasons I wouldn't cycle on the roads these days - around me the sides are littered with stuff that would present a hazard to bike tyres, especially after the recent floods, etc.

The wife's just got over her illness (whatever it was) apart from the fact her chest still hurts when breathing. She seems to have passed it onto me, fever and chills and a cough that gives me a headache. This means that I've had a cold or flu or something for the last 3 weeks. When will it end...

Ugh another cauliflower ear to drain and it's bloomin' painful. I swear I got more now than I used to in my youth. Getting old is not fun.

One of the many benefits of bjj. Lots of chaps with cauliflower ears in our club.

What's the broken toe rate in your club? I reckon it's the most common injury in ours.

Well I used to get them playing rugby but the coaches used to literally drain them at the side of the pitch and throw you back in the game!

Not sure about toes - ribs, shoulders seem to be a common issue lots of pressure games here - lots of the whitebelts get mat friction burns though.
