*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

4k 60fps is fine, even the ps5 and series x can’t do 4k 120 in most games and there more powerful.

Sometimes expectations on gamers is just daft, to ever have 4k 120 on consoles we have to enter reality of high end pc gpu costs and considering many felt ps5 pro was too expensive that’s not gonna happen

High end PCs can’t do ‘proper’ 4K 120fps with all the eye candy in new games games either. They need DLSS and fake frames to achieve it.

It’s a bit of a silly [expensive] target to chase.

Edit: a PS5 and PC could probably run a typical Nintendo game at 4K 120 with ease

From what I know, customs invoicing says the system has HDMI 2.1, but it may be the DP to HDMI conversion is limited to 2.0 overall. Either way, even if the system is actually 2.1 Nintendo could have just disabled output higher than 4k60.

I dont see the fuss about 4k 120fps on the Switch 2. Dont you need an 120hz screen to get 120fps? Which most peoples TV's dont have.

Hoping to see more 3rd party stuff, in particular more sports stuff from EA or 2K - would like to see EA Golf or PGA2K 25 on Switch 2 - stuff like that is just great for handheld gaming.

Not if EA pull their half-arsed "Legacy Editions". Might aswell play the mobile versions.

I think the Switch 2 is 4k60 and 1440p120

I don’t think I’ve ever chosen 120 on anything even if the PS5 and my TV supports it. Prefer 60 with less compromises. Switch 2 if nothing is 30 fps that will do for me.

Yeah, so it doesn't make sense people complaining the Switch 2 can't do a certain technical feature which 99.9% of its audience are not going to use, care about or know what it is.

I don't care about 4k 120fps and I'm sure all the kids playing their Switch 2 wont either and Nintendo knows this.

And yet because this system's only selling point is that it has more power, to the point they talked about what higher frame rates actually mean for the end user in the announcement direct, just maybe Nintendo considers it more important than you?

They didn't go through the hassle of including a 120Hz screen just to never use it. And because 120Hz is baked into the portable display, a lot more people are actually going to use it than you think.

All consoles selling points are it's more powerful than the previous model but people are still expecting too much of what's still a portable device. Unless they want Asus ROG Ally prices.

Can it play Mario, Zelda and Pokémon better, yes. OK, great! Everything else is just an bonus.
