Your bad driving encounters/irritations

Parked my BMW last night on a Premier Inn car park in space away from everyone else. Came out to my car this morning and was greeted with this example of douche bag parking.

Reminds me of work. I have 5 spaces for the office I manage. Daily staff use 3-4 and we have visitors some days.

The car park has about 20-25 spaces. You can absolutely guarantee that if I leave work late, there is a chancer parked right up against my car in one of my other spaces. Empty parking lot, park next to the one car.

I guess they think they're being inconspicuous if they park near someone?

Welcome to my world. Though I think with the pickup some special people do it on purpose because they've got a bee in the bonnet about it being a big vehicle on the road - despite it probably not being substantially bigger in terms of footprint than what they are probably driving.

wonder how yourself or anyone looking at pictures managed to sleep

Touching back on this a moment, been a long time since photos of stuff like that would keep me awake at night - not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing, fortunately I've not experienced it with anyone close to me as that is another thing again, if you do experience something like that in person I highly recommend taking a 1-2 week holiday somewhere new as it will soften the memories surprisingly quickly unlike if you continue with your daily routine where they will be the last novel thing in your mind - though there are some sounds which never really leave you.

Motorcyclists riding like ****heads? Well colour me surprised.
I've ridden a bike for over 40 years, still ride one now (a slow one now though!) and yes, a lot of them are indeed ****heads.
Usually the big sportsbikes and bright coloured leathers brigade, they only come out when the sun is shining. Had one overtake me yesterday when I was in my car doing 60 in a nsl, the moron waited until there was a car coming the other way then shot between us at a rate of knots. He was very, very lucky.

Just like plenty of drivers driving like ****heads
Not sure what difference the vehicle makes

Really? You've never heard of white van man, BMW drivers, Tesla drivers and all the tropes? Or are you being deliberately obtuse?

Cars just look lonely by them selves

BBC coverage if you hate Reddit:

Someone local has shown me a longer version of that video which shows the dashcam driver was doing significantly above the speed limit (can see 118km/h - 73.3MPH in the Reddit clip) though to be fair the start of the video looks like they were coming off the end of an overtake - unfortunately this is a common area to encounter agricultural traffic and ******* doing 40MPH in a NSL that is perfectly fine for if not 60 the best part of it and one of the few places you can get past them for miles. But closing that quickly and tailgating the red car almost certainly didn't help here - something the girl who was driving doesn't seem to want to take onboard. Though to be fair I've had similar situations along that stretch where the car in front just hasn't got going when getting past slow moving traffic and I've got pretty close up on them trying to minimise the time I'm on the other carriageway and maximise the time and space other drivers behind have to get past as well.

Noticed a bmw the other day in a local beauty spot car park, parked deliberately straddling 2 parking spaces!! It was obvious they parked like that so nobody could park next to them....

There was a notice on the windscreen saying '...hole'

I've mixed feelings about this - far too many people who have no consideration for other people's property, for example there is a guy at work who thinks nothing of opening their car door so it touches the car next to them, etc.

I did read about that accident, was horrible enough to read about it, wonder how yourself or anyone looking at pictures managed to sleep. Motorcycles have immense power, especially the 600cc class and above, but some people will never learn.

Not seen the photos Resident is referring to but I've seen similar pictures from that incident, pretty grim from the imagination :(

I've seen some horrific scene photos from when I volunteered in my youth with the fire service (safety campaigns etc). Worst one I can remember is of a guy who was arsing about in his convertible, flipped it and used his head as a brake.

Straight line on the road of hair > skin > bone > brain matter

The issue these days with people on bikes is that a lot of them seem to have bought it as a penis replacement. They're not bikers, they're crotch replacement riders, fuelled by ego and tiny members.

Fortunately not first on scene so haven't had to deal with it myself, but I've seen happen or been amongst the first people to come along after some pretty bad accidents including a couple of fatalities - it is half the reason I post quite a bit of the stuff I do in this thread. Seeing stuff is one thing but hearing some things involved in an accident is what really sticks with you or at least for me.

Technically more bad parking that bad driving but hey, they had to drive there.

Had a hospital appointment today, went and parked up, attended my appointment and then came back to the car park to absolute chaos.

The car park in question has 1 entrance and one exit.

This was the cause of the chaos.

In spoiler tags so you have to click to witness the abject moronic-ness in full.

Guess they went in for an eye op :s

Hospital car parks in my experience are pretty bad at the best of times, really something which should be sorted.

Hospital wanted to build a multi-storey. Plans were rejected due to 'overwhelming objections' from the NIMBYs living nearby, the same ones that complain people keep parking on their roads.

Had a lorry on my left today on M6, I was in third lane and it was little busy on that stretch of road on my return journey from work. I saw the Lorry indicating right and I immediately began scanning for space to move to the 4th lane. But there wasn't any. I stayed put, then the lorry undertook a bit too briskly and closed in on the lorry ahead of it to perhaps emphasise that it needs to move in the space currently occupied by me. I was muttering inside my car "I can see you want to move put but I have nowhere to go". Moved over finally of what was a long one minute. :p

Second one was near my child's nursery. There were roadworks temporary lights right outside the driveway of the nursery and expectedly it was busy in the evening. A Polo with 3-4 young ladies was blocking my exit and none of them were aware of my presence to their left with my right indicator on. The lady in a Yaris behind them had seen me straightaway and tried to make space but there wasn't much room for her to reverse. The Polo had space ahead of it to make room for me to get out but since they weren't paying attention and busy chatting about I had no chance.

One of passengers in the Polo finally saw me but did nothing to make the driver aware. I find it odd that so many people block driveways, minor roads for other vehicles to turn into. This is all taught while learning to drive to not block access points but yet I see this every day. The driver of the Polo never took a note of my presence. Once they left the Yaris thankfully let me out.
