NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

I might have to get the Astral LC, its pretty much the only one I can find in stock... My case will be very crowded with those huge tubes but well I guess...

Ill wait a little bit to see if Lord @Gibbo bring us some Astral without bots snatching it in a heartbeat ahah

not expecting any ASUS 5090 today.

Yeah I wont be doing any of that stuff - in my 25 years of owning and using graphics cards Ive never tinkered with any of that. Surely if a consumer needs to do that to ensure it doesnt fail then its not fit for purpose?
Yes and no. Nvidia needs to ensure all GPUs meet the same bar. This means many of them can operate more efficiently than stated.

It was very easy with the 4090 as you can just power limit it. That’s what i’ve done since day one.

But undervolting is the better option for the 5090. Given how much heat it chucks out and the connector issues, i will undervolt a 5090 if i end up buying one. Especially on one of the lower end cards that don’t have such a beef cooler.

It’s not essential though. Try it without it to begin with and see how you fare.

:D Someone here pulled together a list of most 5090s, and found the AM to be the heaviest at 3100g. The Astral wasn’t far behind at 3040g or so IIRC.
Having owned the Astral, Aorus Master and Suprim, the heaviest is the Astral followed closely by the Suprim. The Aorus Master is the lightest of the three.

ETeknik is 100% wrong! The card without the 4th fan is around 2.2kg and no where near 3.1kg.

Why can we not get a proper weight for this card, we have 1.7KG from a review, 3KG+ from another review, and now you're somewhere in the middle at 2.2KG...!

Something fishy is going on with all these scales :D Thanks, @JustHappy. I forgot some people here have bought 65 5090s ;)
Haha! Just managed to snag a £2600 Suprim for a mate that I convinced to cancel his £3300 Suprim order from the stupid logo place. He is absolutely buzzing and I am well chuffed.

i was half tempted as well tbh… Much better price that what we have seen to date.
It's the lowest it's ever been. I have been feeling guilty since he still doesn't have a Suprim as it's the only one he wants so I kept a tab open at the sauce place to try and get him one. I can finally uninstall all my tracking apps. Happy days ahead!
