im board of my O11 vision and want to plant my system in an NV5 but what other cases are there in the type class
and what would you buy in the same case type

It's a metal box. Get a cheap one and hide it if you care that much about aesthetics. Spend the £100 you saved on ice lollies and cheese.

Antec C3? (£20 cheaper)

Comes with 4 x ARGB fans, but take it you would be reusing your D30 fans.

yer id want to use the d30's i just watched a build guide and the guy only just got a 360 AIO to fit and it was tight, so my 38mm rad with 30mm fans i would think is not going to work
the only place to mount the rad was top.

Fair enough. Seen on reddit you should be fine with the NV5.

Alternative case, Lancool 216 may be ok. Good case but a bit of a "Plain Jane".

when it comes to case reviews i have much respect for Handwear Canucks, and in there reviws at the end he literally says buy an NV5 hahah
but that said i do think i very much like the case

I haven't built it yet, but bought a 'Sahara Gaming p480'... although it now appears to be twice as much as I paid....
Main reason for me was a 'fish tank' style case that supported a 480mm rad while not being much wider than my Enthoo Primo (as the PSU is in front/next to the motherboard rather than fully behind it)

Edit: Ooofff... i really like the look of that X2! If they made a deeper one that supported a 480 I'd be all over it lmao

basically the same case that i have on a budget, with a few problems and its too big for my desk

Yeah that's the one - For my situation (as well as the radiator) the width was more of an issue than the depth and it's about 55-60mm thinner than the 011V.

As I said, I haven't built it yet, but briefly had it out of the box (mainly to check the glass had survived!) and was happy with the quality for the ~£40 I paid.
Wasn't sure if it had come across your radar as it doesn't seem to be well known :)

its looks like a good case with a few fan mounting problems, but its basically the same case type that i have.

the wife as told me if i but another case it better be for my crap as she kicking me out... so now im 100% buying a new case
i wish they did that Evolv Series X2 in black and silver like they showcased, but its black and gold(bit naff) or black and black and as said in the review its just not got the wow factor it should have.
but it is 100% a contender for my new case

Yeah it's pretty similar in looks, as you mentioned the NV5 I thought the glass front and side look was what you were after?
If not then there are a lot of other good options - If going front mesh, I quite like the NZXT H5/H7 ones, or similar ones from Corsair/Asus etc.

Are you looking at air/AIO/watercooling?
Tbh I actually just saw the black/gold variant and think it looks nice, but would require the right motherboard and other parts to set it off (i.e. Taichi and probably a Pro-Art GPU)

I don't have the luxury/curse of having a wife to mediate my decisions, hence an over abundance of boxes littering my flat and half a spare room full of obsolete hardware I'll eventually bin :P

Is this not the black/silver one you were looking at? (It's black/brushed, but....)

Just get the nv5. Just built with it for my son and its a lovely premium looking case. Far nicer than my 011d evo ive got. Id swap mine now but cant get phanteks where i am.
Got mine off MM. Unfortunately, bits were missing which was a let down.
One thing you dont need is the phanteks digital rgb hub. I spoke to ocuk and they said you did so bought one with an additional fan, but after using it, realised you can just daisychain all the d30's straight into the case and then control the fan lighting directly from the buttons on the top of the case. I used an air cooler rather than an zio..downside being theres not enough room to mount the gpu vertically with the premium bracket..top of the gpu cant get past the cooler so for anyone wanting to do that, youll have to go aio.
Still a wider case than my corsair 5000x though, but not nearly as beefy as the 011d...def moving away from yhe dual chamber.fatness eats too juch into desk space

.. oh, I see what you mean about the one they showcased, much higher contrast! Yeah that's nice. I do really like the shape of the shroud element around the radiator though, looks awesome!

thats a bit crap, no way to sort that out? only been on there a few months but i thought it was a safe place.

desk space is becoming a bit a of a problem for me as i need to move the PC uptears, i tried ITX and that didn't work,, a bit of a costly lesson.

my GPU and motherboard are a very light gun metal gray and would have worked so well in that case

Ah OK, I was looking at that board for myself for a while and it looks fairly dark grey in the stock photos! - White version no good?
Have you considered an open frame design? - I nearly let Jay talk me into the ATX version of the Xtia last year :D Just couldn't be bothered to mess with QDCs and an outboard radiator!

* this is just me trying to meet your brief of talking you out of the NV5, if that's the case you want you should just go for that :P
