You can see the mounts in the “mouth” I’ve designed some in cad so I can pop it off for pictures… it’s always on when on road. Not rich enough to pay £100 fines for styleFront plate fell off
Nice job. I see them. You can see the mounts in the “mouth” I’ve designed some in cad so I can pop it off for pictures… it’s always on when on road. Not rich enough to pay £100 fines for style![]()
I know I was discussing this with a mate last night after seeing a photo of these wheels in silver.Delete the black wheels and the M3 is perfection.
Lots planned already. I've got it booked in for throttle actuators as I am unable to drive it in max gear shift speed setting, so I'm not getting the proper blip on downshifts - instead its giving me a engine warning light and puts it into limp mode. About £500 to fit a uprated part. The dealer I bought this from has kindly sent £500 towards the repair no questions asked - I can't say fairer than that.Loving that M3. They have aged so well. Any plans for it?
Haven't seen that particular video but seen others.Awesome. Keep us updated. I'm seriously tempted by one myself. They have to be at the bottom of the market now with only one way to go. How much does the rod-bearing job cost? It looks pretty straightforward to do.
I take it you've watched M539 on Youtube where he rebuilds the engine on one of those.
rod bearings is one of those things that are worth doing, from evolve videos, they can fail at any time depending on how it was driven when cold etc. And like you said, they'll take the engine with them and that is big money compared to £1500.Haven't seen that particular video but seen others.
Yes agreed. I'm very impressed with how well this drives, it actually feels more comfortable than the M4 on the road / motorway, far less road noise but that might be due to the 20" tyres on M4. Really interesting how many subtle differences you notice driving both generations back to back.
Rod bearings job about £1500. Could well have been done by the previous owner but I have no evidence to say so and apparently you can't tell until the engine starts getting taken apart.
I'm just glad I found this good low owner, and decent service history car. There is nothing to say that the E92 M3s at a much higher cost between £25k-30k won't need the same work doing.
