The Last of Us (HBO, from Creator of Chernobyl) - No game spoilers please

Enjoying that they are still making the hordes actually feel like a threat instead of 'downgrading' them to make the human conflict appear stronger.

Not going to be for everyone this weeks episode.

Jeffrey Wright have so much screen presence compared to the rest of the cast he was acting with.

Another good episode, action all over the place…

The cordyceps are relentless. Surely one or both of these girls are going to get captured and tortured at some point. Shame there’s a week wait for the next episode.

Yep, another good episode.

Still being quite faithful to the game. You can see why they needed two seasons to show the events of the game, bearing in mind we are over halfway through season 2 and probably only 20% of the second games story.

I liked the introduction of Isaac.. I am not a fan of the downplaying of Tommys role. Tommys guerrilla fighting style was a big part of the game.

I found it dull, The sex scene was hilarious. Them making too much noise was bone headed, Jeffery as Isaac, yeah, he's great. Him monologing about pots and pans was the highlight. The rest was boring.

Completely forgot he played Isaac in the game too! Good to see him in action again

Overall I like how true to the game this portion felt, but I feel we need a smidge of Joel/flashback Now to break it up a little.

Even though a fair bit happened, I still found I wasn't that into this episode compared to the others so far

The tank bit was not dissimilar from the game, except in the game the hatch magically holds itself in place

The "Non Ellie" parts were about 5 mins of the 51 minute run-time.

Game spoilers

When Ellie finds out, she thought Dina was going to be a burden for the rest of the journey and was fixated on revenge against Abby.

She wasn't concerned at all about being a mum/"dad"

Honestly though, If you can't stand Ellie and Dina, you might as well stop watching.

They are the focus of the majority of the game, and this series
The Ellie and Dina story tapers off after this. Looking at the cast list for the upcoming episodes on IMDB it seems like they could be Joel based stories.

Posted elsewhere,
If you had told me a couple hours ago that there’d be a scene wherein three minutes’ worth of time is devoted to “I’m immune, ok I’m gonna shoot you, I’m pregnant, ok let’s have vicious sex”, all the while there's undead around you. I’d have cackled in your face.
